I just wanted to let everyone know that their support is seen and recognized.

Everyone knows that CU is rebuilding right now. But what has impressed recruits is that every time they turn on the tv for a CU game or come here for a visit they see Folsom packed and rocking. They also have fans recognize them on campus and around town.

They have commented on this in interviews. Embree and other coaches have also made a point of it publicly. For the recruits, what they're thinking is if we're this supportive now that it's going to be absolutely sick to be a Buff once they get this thing going again and they're winning.

Let's make sure that we send out our seniors the right way against Arizona while also making a statement to our younger players and recruits.

Definitely agree with all. I think we got the right coaches. As a program, we're at an All-hands on deck juncture. The support right now will be defining down the road.

I have also been extremely impressed with our attendance. I may be a victim of eternal optimism, but I think we're a powder keg, with a chance to explode.

Attendance figures from the PAC 12 this weekend:
    HOMEVISITORATTENDNACEPERCENT FULL
    Washington#8 Oregon69,4XX95%
    UCLA#18 ASU65,40070%
    ArizonaUtah50,300 (Senior Day)87%
    CU#21 USC50,0XX93%
    OSU#5 Stanford42,8XX79%
    CalWSU35,50047%

(Not sure where CAL's playing right now, went with current capacity of Memorial Stadium)

Our fans have yet to see a win at Folsom, and yet we're still showing up. We're DYING for a winner. In fact, I would argue that our suckitude in Football was an integral part of turning around the BBall program. We wanted to come to campus and leave happy. Football wasn't doing it, so we turned to BBall. Now, Bball will again reap the rewards of Football sucking.

The next 12 months I think are ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL to our future success.
    1. Bball needs to prove this wasn't a flash in the pan thing last year. If they can support themselves, have a good showing at home, I think they'll be taking off.
    2. Football NEEDS to win at home next year. Fans will still come to the first few games because of the amazing weather. If we still suck, I don't think we'll get nearly the support by November. We don't even have to win on the road. Win out at home next year and CU will be back. We'll get the money rolling in, the coaches could point to tangible improvements to recruits and we ride the train of momentum to the top of the PACXX.

If #1 doesn't work out, so be it. We were never a bball school.
If #2 doesn't work out, season ticket sales will be back down to 20,000 in 2013, stadium expansion talks won't even be on the table, and we'll be at the bottom of our conference for quite some time.

But if both #1 and #2 DO work out next year....Look out PAC12!

Cal is playing at AT&T park (SF Giants Stadium) during the Memorial Renovation. Capacity there is in the 42k neighborhood for baseball, not sure for the football layout though.

Love seeing Folsom rockin'. Loved it when the Buffs put up the first TD friday night. Can't wait until the stadium is rockin the whole game like it was after that TD.

Not only are our fans still coming out in numbers, the stadium is a fun place to be. I don't know how it is in other PAC stadiums but some college stadiums are full of older fans who have lost their enthusiasm and even with 70k+ the atmosphere is dull and boring. Game day in Boulder is fun, energetic, and has to be impressive for a HS kid visiting.

With the combination of the Broncos losing their luster (and having another stadium full of geriatric 40 year ticket holders who don't stand up once they get to their seats) and the cost difference CU has a chance to become a more significant player in the Denver metro sports market.

Cal web site says capacity is just over 45k at AT&T.

No one is showing up in SF for their games, not fair to include them IMO.

I think once the video boards and sound system are up to date our attendance will get even better. Put that together with a few winning records and i think we will definitely be talking about stadium expansion. If we can get 50,000 at 1-8 we can get 60,000+ at 6-3

Seems to me that the students show much more support than they did a few years ago.

Folsom looked crazy on Friday night.... Looked like the place was really rocking and looked more like a venue for a top 10 team not a 1-9. You guys are right our fan base is so hungry for some success when Jon and EB turn this thing aroun the place is going to go nuts!! Many thanks to all of you guys that keep coming out!

I hate when the TV networks show the South end near the beginning of the game, it makes the stadium look empty (late-arriving students and band out and about), meanwhile the rest of the place is packed

Friday night was the worst all year with the student entrance. They were lined up over a thousand deep when I went it. They'd done a much better job of this in previous weeks. For the Oregon game, I actually went in through the student line because it was moving much more quickly.

I'm so mad I was so sick Friday and not able to attend the game. I think my absence created a new buff fan though. My buddy took his friend who had never been to a college football game and he came back impressed.

Friday night it looked great at Folsom - the students still show up late. Student section empty till half way through the first qtr, surprising though how it did fill up. There were lots of trojan fans sprinkled throughout the stadium too...
It is a great environment, one of the best ever.

A lot of the "late" issue is the goddamn gate system. One point of entry, 10 people admitting kids after searching them, 10000 students.

I stood in that line for the Oregon game for 30 minutes. How early were you?

Not going to change. Students pregame, and especially with these early start times, students head over later because they don't have enough time to get sufficiently drunk. The USC game though was the worst of the year for students getting in. My group showed up 20 minutes before kickoff and didn't get in until USC had just scored their first TD.

Argus completely stopped letting in students for about 10 minutes at one of the gates just prior to kickoff. Ridiculous

I saw the gigantic mass of students trying to get in as I walked up to the gate. Unforgivable, IMO. This isn't doing much to engender a new generation of Buff fans. The AD needs to get this worked out ASAFP. It's not acceptable.

agreed. It is one thing to have a long line at gametime... but 30 minutes before the game? Ridiculous.

He's spot on with the 27 or 28 with 3 counting back. That's straight out of Embree's mouth.

As far as final ranking, it's a shot in the dark.

If we land some 4* guys, we'll most likely be somewhere in the 20s. If it ends up being half 3* guys with multiple other BCS offers and half 3* (and a few 2*) with limited offers, we'll be in the 30s.

With a large class like this, we'll get a nice bump since only the top 20 guys count toward the ranking. My personal feeling on this is that this fails to take into account the importance of the guys who could make up 20-25% of a roster. Also, they should have a signing day rank and then do a re-rank in August before camp starts to account for late signees and guys who don't make it into school.
