This will be the last time we play OU in conference play and possibly ever.

We have a lot of history with this school. What are your favorite memories?

    I have a lot actually.

1989 Hagans pitch over the head of 2 sooners to Flannagin as buffs beat Sooners in Norman. Mac's first W over OU.

1990 OU could have taken the lead in the 4th qtr with a FG, but went for it on 4th and 1 and we stuffed them on an option pitch. Next play Hagan threw a bomb to Rico Smith that broke the game open.

1994 Rashaan scores 4 TD's in the 1st half as CU trounces OU 45-7. OU's only score came with under a minute to play in the game.

CU's decade of domination of the sooners in the 90's. 9-0-1 against OU from '89-'99

2007 OU shocks #3 OU. Everyone thought this was the turning point. Everyone was wrong

It was the turning point, Leash. It was just turning a different direction than we thought.

Back in the nineties, I was watching one of the televised games from Norman and laughed when the an announcer said, "Colorado actually owns the stadium here in Norman, and they stop by every other year to collect rent". Those were the days...

But no particular memory (the tipping of the schooner has been discussed in another thread). I will add that I will miss playing Oklahoma more than any other school from the Big 8/Big XII. It's been a pleasure.

actually 8-0-1. didn't play in 96 and 97, first two years of the Big XII divisional rotation with the South. though, i doubt we lose to either of those Blake teams.

i like 94. OU was ranked and talking big about "being back".....ho hum. 45-7.

the tie game in 93 (?) was kinda fun since they were thinking upset but Koy as a FR and Neil Voskaritchean (sounds like) knuckleballed one in for the tie.

edit: looks like i was wrong about the tie game. 92, and Mitch Berger for the game tying FG.

I liked the Schooner tipping over sometime during the 90s.

I thought the 1992 game was exciting. Koy Detmer threw like 4 TD's, but also 4 INT's - all of which seemed to be returned for TD's. On the last play of the game Mitch Berger kicked a 78 yard (it seemed like it) field goal to TIE the game.

That was '93. That game had a play that got named the national play of the year, as Lamont Warren took a pitch for a halfback pass and slipped, while falling he threw it to Charles Johnson for the TD.

Ugh, that game was annoying. Still can't believe we tied them. Felt like a win when Berger made the kick. But the turnovers were too much.

My favorite OU memory is 95 and shutting up that big blowhard Schllenberger. Carruth tore it up in this game.

It went exactly like that! All college football games were more epic in the nineties!!

    "Things have changed."

That was the game that really turned a lot of heads around the country that CU football had arrived. I was lucky enough to have gone to that game. It was simply fantastic.

Berger's kick rotated sideways instead of end over end, and it still went in from over 50 yards. Still the strangest field goal I've seen.

The '94, '95, and '07 games all stick out. And even though we lost the '03 game was memorable. OU was ranked #1 coming into Boulder, CU's defense was absolutely horrible that year, but played pretty well that night. Late in the 4th OU is up by a few, goes for it on 4th down around the 50 I think and gets it. If CU could have gotten the stop they were in good position to get a win. Oh well.

"I don't want a damn asterisk when we beat them!" -Schenllenberger commenting on CU's Detmer being out.

1989 for me. I knew they were pretty good based on how they handled Washington and Illinois, even though OU wasn't ranked at the time. But after barely losing in 1988 to #9 OU, and based on OU's history, to go in and stuff them 20-3 in Norman was awesome and told me CU had finally arrived.

Referring to Hessler starting for an injured Koy. The bloated drunk man with a capillary problem was suggesting that when OU beat CU, that we--as fans--would blame the inexperienced quarterback, rather than crediting OU. Turns out we'll never know.

I guess all of our remaining losses this season will have an asterisk next to them since our starting quarterback is out? Not that we'll lose any more games...

I have to throw another one in there, 42-31 Buffs in 1976 in Boulder. At the time it was the most points we ever scored against OU and it was extra sweet kicking Switzer's sleazy ass.

I was at the 1994 game and watched the 1995 game which would have to be my most memorable ones especially the 1995 game when Howard was being a blowhard.

2007 - my final season as a student in Boulder...I was on the 4.5 year plan at CU and the upset win vs. the Sooners made the extra .5 year completely worth it - it was definitely one of my favorite days in Boulder...

Out of the 89,93 and 95 games, I'd have to go with 93. CU had lost 2 tough games to stanford and miami at home. That facemask call was BS VS THE CANES. Anyway, OU was 5-0, National TV and many picked OU to hand it to the buffs. The schooner tips over casting a shadow and the buffs come out and win 27-10. Of course, the pass by warren to johnson was the highlight.
