The WFU game was supposed to be their statement game. They had lost two straight to WFU and were at home. Everybody was making a big deal out of FSU has to make a statement that they are back from being a middle of the pack ACC team. The Noles at home scored a whopping 3 points and turned it over 7 times using 3 QB's. They supposedly gave WFU their best shot and seriously failed. They have serious confidence issues right now if you ask me. They are like the 2006 Buffs with their QB situation. They have a 15-12 rcord the past two years, they are still bringing in top notch talent, but they are nowhere near what they used to be. Don't tell me that WFU is a power with a great defense. They are good, but I wouldn't say much better than the buffs.

Meanwhile the buffs are going down to J-Ville with swagger and are expecting to win. That also goes a long ways. I am starting to believe that if we lose, I will be surprised. Anything can happen, I just don't see anything great with FSU.

My concern though is what kind of gameplan are we going to implement? I believe that this team is perhaps unintentionally turning into a power running football team. I think that it is time to go back to the old Big 8 and pound it at them. I think we have some outstanding runningbacks and we need to get them touches in this game. I do not like Cody dropping back and trying to win this on his shoulders. Play action and some quick slants are fine but I want to see both Stewart and Scott with 20 touches a piece mixed in with Sumler as well. Ball control and a minimization of turnovers will be key. Also take note of how many penalties we commit, it is hard to get holding calls against you on running plays.

Agree 100% with that game plan. I hope the coaches do it. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to come up with a game plan to beat FSU.

The WVU win was a huge confidence boost. You are spot-on, brother.

The FSU DBs play almost exclusively man-to-man, and stack the box with everyone else. Their aggresive pay leaves them open to big pays. Hawk and co. will have to use a healthy dose of misdirection and some deep passes to try and take advantage of FSU over-pursuing. Wake used waggles and counter plays pretty effectively and had chances to put up a lot more points if they hadn't shot themselves in the foot with penalties and rather silly missed 4th and 3 from the FSU 20.

Do NOT try and run outside on FSU. Run it right up the gut.

If that is the gameplan, expect a lot of Darrell Scott, and less of Rodney Stewart. This could be the breakout game we've been waiting for from him.

RS can run up the gut too, he's strong as an ox, just short. Very interested to see the Buffs game plan for this one.

After watching CU's offense stutter and stall for the final 55 minutes of the WV game, I am worried that sustaining drives may have as much to do with FSU penalties as anything else. I am confident CU will win because the defense is stout and CU as a team is more disciplined, more experienced, more confident, and are fit enough to keep coming for a full sixty minutes.

But, CU tends to play at the level of their opponent. A statement will be made if CU comes out fast, sustains a lead, and puts this game out of FSU's reach by the 3rd quarter. That would be a sign the team deserves a top 25 ranking and is ready for the next level.

I'd be slightly disappointed to see an other stuggle.

That's the magic potion for me right there. Come out strong and fast, put up some quick points, force a quick turnover, do something to disrupt their gameplan and get that doubt to start bubbling over in their heads again. If the Buffs are able to establish the run after that and start wearing them down with some long, sustained drives we'll be walkin outta there with a 4-0 record and more importantly some big time mo' headin into our showdown with KjSU's whipping boy.

And don't forget Moyd. I think he feels like he has something to prove so if he gets a shot he may show up huge.
