From Omaha rag, CU picked 10th in B12. Good read.

is the author's last name really barfknecht?

how freaking apropos!

from now on, all ****-for-brains 'tard homer fusker "reporters" in 5th rate markets in 10th rate states covering a has-been team like the fuskers shall be known to me as BARFNECKS.

"did you see what the fusker barfneck wrote today?"

perfect.

If you knew anything about Lee Barfbucket, he is anything but a Nebraska Homer. He is a big time KSU fan! Nebraska fans can't stand his smug attitude, not to mention the porno-stache he sports!

and thus, it came to pass that the famed brainpower behind the term "gleebsnark" created the term "barfnecks".

i am on board

I agree with his statement but not 4 years...I give it 2 seasons

I guess they are factoring in that the defense will have to be rebuilt due to graduation after their done with the offense? Doesn't make sense to me. If he continues to recruit AND coach like we think he can then we should be a contender in two years.

that is the most positive thing you have said in days. i am so proud of you!!!

Point #1: Lee Barfknecht is an asshole. Nobody here [in NE] likes him.

Point #2: The OWH is not the only publication that has the Buffs penciled in to finish in the bottom of the conference. Don't make it seem like it's just NE picking on the Buffs. This is something that NE does sometimes but this isn't an example of it.

Point #3: The Buffs will not be that low. No way that's happening. You guys are much better than that. Last year there's not way you were a 2-10 team. More like 4 or 5 win team. That was with a QB who is not a QB. The presence of an actual QB this year will vault you back into a bowl and probably 7 or 8 wins. Write it down.

#1 - its barfneck, per mbb.
#2 - no one said that ne was the only one picking on cu. we are just pointed out that barfneck is tarded. so is anyone who takes his predictions for gospel. so is anyone who remotely sees that article as complimentary towards the buffs. being as the prediction was tarded, we will just acknowledge its idiocy.
#3 - how very odd that a fusker thinks we will win more games than our resident optimist. i will take fc's prediction as "likely" which means 7 regular season games won, plus a bowl win = 8 wins. you talked me into it.

saw a post on nb from a guy who says he was a former player under skippy and gb and is supposedly still close to the program. he's saying 8 wins is the thinking around the program. i'd freaking dance a happy happy jig if our Buffs win 8 or more, particularly if one of the wins is over barfneck's team.

I think that guy might be drinking more than the koolaide

I really hope that "the thinking around the program" is about winning the next game in the schedule, and not how many games they'll be winning during the season.

I'd do ****ing back flips if we won 8 games. That'd be a helluva turn.

Oh, and what is this nb you speak of?

Yea, its kinda funny, everytime they dont agree with some article about CU football, they call it fuskertalk, its funny how about every other college fb publication has them in about the same spot this year in the big 12. IT must be a conspiracy against CU or something!

Thank you for you always salient points, sorry we think we are better than such power house programs as Kansas and being capable of finishing better than 10th in the big 12 see things like this as a sign of disrespect.

Sorry to say, but your really not all that better than Kansas right now, CSU isnt all that great either. THat doesnt mean you WONT be in a few years, after last seasons debacle there isnt alot of respect for CU right now.

that game was 15-20 in their house, given an improvement at QB and that we get the game at home this year I think we beat them.

B-Jax game stats:
NET YARDS PASSING 144
Completions-attempted 10-27
Sacked 3
Yards Lost 13
Int 2

I think it will be a good game, will probably be close. But this isnt a sure win for CU in anyway.

I really don't think 8 wins is being overly optimistic at all.

the jump from 2 to 8 wins is a huge jump yes, but look at it this way:

should you really have only won two games last year?

Montana St. - you should've won this game
CSU - Should've won this one as well
ASU - eh, probably not.
UGA - You had no business being in this game. Fluke.
Mizzou - Loss
Baylor - shoulda won
TTU - I crapped myself when I saw that score. My first reaction would be upset, but going by the score it looks like you just owned them, so I'll let you keep it and not consider it a fluke.
OU - Loss
KU - Should've won
KSU - Toss up, I personally think you were good enough to win this one
ISU - they're terrible.
NU - loss, but hell, it was 21s going into the 4th qtr. You're right there.

tally it up, that's 6 to 7 wins that you were good enough to have last year. But when you have a non-QB trying to play QB, and you don't catch any breaks, you get screwed with 2 wins. It happens.

This year, you've actually got a QB. That makes a huge difference.

So is 8 wins really out of the question? I sure don't think so. I really do think you buffs are gonna turn some heads this year. Hopefully just not against NU!

Absolutely right, in that there are no 'for sure' wins out there for CU this year. We are worlds ahead of where we were at, but the talent had slipped quite a bit and you can't replace that, replace most coaches and the entire offense and defense and have everything running smoothly in 1 year. But I do think that we will be drastically better this year; and can't wait for the season to play out and see for sure what progress has been made. All I know is that CU somehow stayed in games where the offense did not produce any meaningful drives. Now while the offense will be greatly improved, noow we see that there may be issues with the middle of our D, so that mya offset some of the gains on the offense (but not all). I still feel that 5-6 wins is very realistic, and if the D doens't fall off as much as I am worried about, then 7 wins is possible.

As a fan of course, we can go undefeated this year!

You must of spouted off in another thread. Not quite sure how you have been so neg. repped. But unfortunitly I agree with most of your points. The national perception of CU (and CSU...ergo the 10am time slot) is not high. And CSU can never be considered an easy win now a days.

I remember the one time in recent past where everyone picked CU for the easy win, and we lost like 41-14 to the rammies. Then a couple of years later everyone thought it was an easy win for CSU and CU returned the favor (by about the same score).

Yea, it seems like every few years a blowout occurs. This year is kinda hard to figure, since no one really knows how good either team is

You know what I don't get? When people go to a college football fan site and are surprised to find fans of that team talking full on homer talk about their team. What the **** did you expect you tard!

Then even more amazing is when these non-fans try to argue that we are just not being reasonable and that our comments are just a bunch of homer talk. Duh!! Again this is a CU fan site. If a CU fan was talking like some of us do here on the lammie site or the fusker sight then I can understand the "that's just CU homer talk" call out but here some amount of CU homer talk should be expected, even required. After all, the term fan is derived from the word 'fanatical'.

So Rams4ever, if you want to continue to shout at the rain and point out that we are just a bunch of CU homers it's a free country and a free website so by all means knock yourself out. Just know that every time you do it you are proving to everyone just how completely stupid you are (and how pathetic an education you got at your "university") by attempting to point out to us what is plainly obvious to anyone - buff fan homers live at buff sites. Get it?

not everuone... just read an article in the local paper here in Baja Oklahoma by the Big XII beat sportswriter..... he thinks CU is going to contend for the North and could actually win it this year.

Jimmy Burch is the sportswriter.

solid take from mr. burch! yay for the rule of reason!

here's the general rule for the idiot fusker and sheep visitors:

sportswriter who doesn't give the Buffs a chance = retarded barfneck homer

sportswriter who does give the Buffs a chance = intelligent balanced journalist

get over it!

You honestly expect CU to contend with Mizzou and NU? A 9 win team?

When's the last time a team went 2-10 and contended much in their conference the next year?

I say 5-6 wins is MAYBE realistic...which is a VAST improvement, dont get me wrong

Doubling your win total from the last year is great

ok seeing that you are from missouri I have something to show you.... a little hisrory lesson

2000 Buffs were 3-8 overall

2001 Buffs were Big XII champs and went to the Fiesta bowl.

If any teamin the conference can do this, the Buffs can because they have been there before....

find another team in the Big XII that has done this.....
