Frustrating loss

Once again, the Buffs were in position to win and managed to lose a close one.

Corey Higgins had 12 shots, his average. It's not enough. He's got to get more touches and be more aggressive in terms of taking over a game. He doesn't play like he's the man, and he IS the man.

On the other hand, Alec Burks is going to be the next man at CU. He is really impressive.

Dufault looked good, though his foul trouble cost the Buffs in the second half. Crawford is playing hard, but just isn't that good. Tomlinson managed to miss three important foul shots. Relphorde had two big threes down the stretch but otherwise was a non-factor.

This team has good players and they are well-coached. The lack of a true big man hurts, but that isn't going to change. The defense is ok but not great. Bottom line, they've got to shoot well -- including threes -- to win big games.

Good analysis. I largely agree, though Relphorde did also hit some key free throws down the stretch and finish in double digits.

This is not a team that's going to be able to hit under 25% of its 3s and win on the road. Actually, it's amazing they were so close considering their awful shooting night. They really made a lot of hustle plays getting on the offensive glass and somehow OSU hit all 17 of their free throws in the 2nd half.

yeah, I'm on east coast time so I didnt see the game until this morning. We lead for most of the game, to lose it the end (or really about 8 min to the end when they let Osu get the momemtum) was frustrating to watch. That's three games that CU could've won if they would've stayed consistent throughout the game. Another close but no dice. Buzz needs to help these kids overcome their inexperience. I am pleased to see the team is playing well, and they could be undefeated right now. I have more confidence in Bz that I do in Hack, I always have. I think CU B-ball will have more success than FB with the current HCs. I look forward to good things for CU BBall. JMHO.

it's been that kind of year, all year. in both revenue sports.

winning any of the Zags, Zona, or Beaver games would have gone a ways to at least making any post-season resume carry some weight.
