USAFA, Colo. — The University of Colorado men’s golf team turned in the best round of the tournament here Sunday but came up just short of the title in finishing second in the 46th Annual Gene Miranda Air Force Falcon Invitational.
Nevada-Las Vegas led from wire-to-wire in winning with an 838 team score (26-under par), but had to withstand a Sunday charge from the Buffaloes. The Rebels entered the day with a 13-stroke lead and led early on by as many as 16, only to see CU pull to within two late in the round. Eventually, the margin settled at four, with Colorado closing with 22-under 842 score.
