Apparently the efforts by Baylor and Ken Starr turned off the Pac 10 and Larry Scott while CU sat quietly.

I have to agree that Texas throwing her weight around probably gave a sour taste to the current PAC 10 members. It was like "is it going to be like this forever if we let them in our little club?" So Texas and Baylor's bad manners may have worked to our favor.

some folks on the Baylor board are saying this:

College Football Live was just now confirming that the Texas schools would insist on BU's inclusion in any move to the PAC 10. Said it twice. Included some quotes from Buddy, such as "Corn Shuckers"....!

A T-sip buddy of mine just took a call from James Street, who was in a meeting with Mac and Buschamp. Allegedly Ken Starr called Mac directly and told him that if he wanted Baylor included, Baylor would go. Starr pretty much told Mac that they have the Pac 10 by the nuts and could even ask A&M Consolidated to be included and they would be.

I'm just considering the source at the moment, but that might explain the sudden news....

I guess the bit about A&M Consolidated shows Starr has a sense of humor....something sorely lacking in BU Administration.

Baylor Regent Buddy Jones is doing no favor for his university.

BU's athletes and alum are going to keep taking heat for a long time because of their maverick Regent's brash stupidity. I bet Briles and the football players wish he'd quit supplying fodder for their opponents.
