Colorado quarterback Tyler Hansen will miss the rest of the season after suffering a ruptured spleen, but he was doing well enough to update fans and followers on his status:
Rough day today, first time I have had stay over night in the hospital ever but I'll be ok.
The view from my new room at the hospital http://yfrog.com/53bx3zj I'm getting better
Thanks to everyone for all your prayers and support I really appreciate it deeply, good news is I'm getting positive test results back
Now, with Hansen out, it's going to be the Hawkins Family Hour at Colorado for the rest of the season. With coach Dan Hawkins' employment status under fire, his son Cody Hawkins will take over as the starting quarterback, a role he assumed for more than two seasons earlier in his career.

"A lot of people going through what he went through would have transferred, packed their bag and rolled and wouldn't be able to come back and play like he did," offensive coordinator Eric Kiesau told the Boulder Daily Camera. "He has always kept an even keel about himself. He's got a very special nature about him, with limitations, but that has never brought him down. You'll see, he will play well here at the end of the year. Everything happens for a reason and I hope for the team, for him and for the people outside the stadium that regardless of what happens that Cody ends this on a positive note."
