Hawk says Tyler AND Cody may play against Kansas

I dunno. I had a coach who flat out told us not to pay attention to what was in print. He said he might say things to the press that weren't accurate on purpose to throw the other team's coaches. He said if we had a question about it, to ask him and he'd give up the straight poop. We did, and he did. That could be going on here. I think...we'll see.

I love this coaching staff. They are so far ahead of the curve, it is scary sometimes. Kansas is probably ****ting their pants right now trying to figure out which QB is going to lead CU to a glorious sub-20 point game right now.

would you believe that you were getting the "straight poop" if you were our kids? Or just the "poop"?

IMHO Cody should have finished the Texas game. By the time TH was
in there it was too late to come back and win.

Hawk should have kept quiet this week and then put Hansen out there
Saturday against KU. The Jayhawks would have had to scramble a bit
to adjust. Could have given CU an early advantage. Oh well ....
our coaching staff can't coach their way out of a paper bag.

If you really wanted to mess with Mangino, you could say we were having free hot dog giveaways at the half...that way KU would make no halftime adjustments..other than switching the mustard bottle for the right hand to the left...

I feel terrible for TH in all this. 2 seasons he has had the redshirt burned now, but he is not given the same opportunity to succeed. Cody has played poorly for the past year, with a few exceptions. TH comes out and plays poorly (referring to last year) and he is immediately yanked.

Pisses me off

+1

I feel the exact same way about the situation. He needs to give TH the rest of the year to show what he has.

Boulder Buff will have a serious reply to that, he doesn't have a sense of humor.

This confirms what most of you already know:

Hawkins is an idiot and a godawful coach.

How many times is he going to lie to CU fans about these situations? If I were a CU fan I would be furious.

The sooner you find a new coach the better. Hawkins needs to go back to the WAC, or maybe a high school somewhere. Get a hard nosed coach who wants to pound the rock.

I almost threw in something about Mangino ****ting his pants, but I decided to go generic. I like yours better anyway.

No idea what that means and no idea what I did to make you mad in my posts this weekend, but I'm going to step aside and get this thread back on track.

I disagree. I like Cody and always have but he clearly didn't have it at the beginning of the second half of that game. The coaching staff was backed into a corner with how to handle the QBs because they'd screwed up so badly this far. When it was clear to everyone in the world that Cody was done, they put Hansen in. Now, they need to have the nuts to stick with that decision and let Hansen lead this team. I simply refuse to believe that there is any upside left to putting Cody back in the game. Even if the team struggles under Hansen the answer can't be put Cody back in. Might as well pull the RS off Evans at that point.

That's all fine and dandy, but after last year and burning his RS again, what TH needs is a full, unabashed vote of confidence from DH, not this wishy washy bull**** that contradicts what they said yesterday.

If Tyler sucks we put Cody back in, but Cody sucked for 3 years and nothing. I didn't before, but now I believe it's nepotism at it's finest.

If this is playing a game in the media for the KU game. I have no problem. What matters is what he is telling TH behind close doors. If he is tell TH he is the guy then it doesn't matter what is being said in the papers.

I just hope this is truly the case.

That may be but his players are hearing this, fans, and Tyler Hansen. These sort of comments have to erode confidence on a lot of fronts. I just see this stuff hurting the team.

Do you really think the players get there information from the paper and not straight from the coaches.

I can understand everyone's concern if this is truly what he is planning to do. I don't like it either.

BUT, if this is just to keep KU off balance then more power to him for keeping them guessing. I really don't think TH is reading the paper to find out what the KU game plan is.

I wish Cody wouldn't even be able to suit up. Coaches don't need to be wearing pads. Seriously I hope that next season with both Evans and Hansen competing for playing time that Cody doesn't suit up for games.

Probably just messing with KU but if he's actually thinking of doing this, and let's not pretend he's beyond making dumb decisions, this would be another disaster of many under his watch.

it seems most likely that they are just throwing it out there to give ku more to think about, but seriously, does having to prepare for ch really scare ku?

My poor wife's CU football experience will be seeing her husband get escorted out of Folsom Field if this happens. I will seriously lose it.

I don't know. But it doesn't hurt to play the game does it?

Sorry but I find this comment completely uncalled for and inappropriate. Please take this kind of **** to netbuffs where it belongs.

I hope that's the case too. Every time I turn around though, the coaching staff is saying something different or contradicting themselves.

After all that's happened, even if he is saying something behind closed doors, you gotta think that TH is thinking in the back of his mind that something fishy could be going on.

You'd be amazed at what you can yell at the coaches and not get escorted out... I had second row 50 yard line seats right behind the bench my junior and senior year and not once did I get kicked out... I did get some dirty looks from Neuweasel and Barnett though!

I cant wait for this muthafuker to get canned. Neil was wrong; the soap opera is NOT over, it continues and will continue as long as these clowns are still coaching at CU. If Hack needs to come up with some gamemanship for KU let him come up with something else instead of something as controversial at the QB situation. The moron is making it easier for him to hung.

I think players can be influenced by a lot of things. Regardless of what Hawkins says, 1-4 teams are somewhat jumpy just by the nature of the situation. Having a coach saying something different every time the wind blows does not bode well.
