What in the name of Bill McCartney?!? Buff players wearing red clothing or even thin stripes of red on their clothes?!?

Funny that Hawkins preached about "the little things" but yet he removed "the little things" that made CU so great.

I am assuming 'RIP' in this case means 'Retire in prosperity'.

The truth finally comes out! He was a Nub spy and in an elaborate scheme to destroy CU football the Nubs used their well of cash to be sure we hired their plant.

Now that Dan is gone I will not be ripping on him. But I do agree that it was a mistake to marginalize the Nebraska rivalry, cover the Pride and tradition sign. These are the little things that motivate and excite, and motivation is what we lacked.

Coming in and changing that stuff BEFORE you have a winning record, does not instill confidence in your technique as a coach. If a coach comes in and WINS for a while and then wants to change something up, then fine, but I don't think throwing away steeped tradition without a record of sucess is a good idea. I don't think that any coach in the future should ever be allowed to cover up or paint over the Pride and Tradition sign, it's a piece of history at CU.
As far as the red clothing, I agree with Cabral! I personally didn't own a piece of red clothing, until last year when my son started playing for a team that wears red/ black( I thought about moving, but he wanted to stay anyway) I will only wear clothing with red on Friday nights!

looks like nebraska is up to their old tricks by trying to force calhoun on us. somebody needs to tell them that we don't play each other after this year and they can quit messing with us now

A better approach is to just beat nebraska and act like it doesn't matter.

If cabral wants to bring back some of the traditions good for him he has been
at cu the longest and he wants that pride back.

so is the red ban in affect next year for utah.

hating the color comes naturally, so I'd suspect so. Although for some reason it's not nearly as annoying on folks from Utah and Georgia. I can't quite put my finger on why that is.

I know we don't hate Utah like we hate Nebraska at this point but Nuggets fans hate the Jazz & the Jazz fans hate the Nuggets and the MLS soccer teams from both states don't like each other. The ski industries from both states compete against each other as well.

The hate between the Utes and Buffs will come eventually...so I believe the red ban stays in place.

This article, to me, points out a major failure of Hawkins. He should have embraced the tradition and honored it. To remove the past ideals that HAVE WORKED shows a tremendous amount of individualistic ego of: "my way" with no respect for where the program was. He had no intention of continuing the good traditions, he only wanted to create his own so he could say.... I started all of this.

This is just sad that he would not incorporate some of the past into his coaching.

After reading that, I'm all on board the "Cabral for HC" train. Those moves are the kind of things HC's build championships careers on.

I believe Neu retired the red letter day as one of his first official acts. I think Barney brought it back but I wasn't in Dal Ward anymore to verify if the signs were put back up.

My friends were tailgating with a player's parents - they said their son has learned more about being a Colorado Buffalo in the last 3 days than he had in his 2+ years on the team. I'm ready to move on from the Hawk Era & stop harping on what he did/did not do but damn, that's pretty tough to hear.

That is something that needs to be discussed with the HC canadiates...we need to hire a coach who won't piss on our tradition.
