Dan Hawkins is 40-1 all time and 8-1 at Colorado when his teams rush for over 200 yards.
What game did he lose where they rushed for 200+? Must have been a lot of penalties and/or turnovers.
Hold on hold on, I think our fat SID Dave Plati may have made a mistake
Looking at this note...
200 BACK-TO-BACKThe Buffs rushed for 235 yards as a team tonight, and coupled with the 252 against Hawai'i, have now rushed for 200-plus yards in back-to-back games (after going 19 straight games under 200) for the first time since 2006, when the Buffs did it twice (Baylor/Texas Tech, Kansas State/Iowa State). Dan Hawkins' teams are now 40-1 in his career when rushing for 200 or more yards (8-1 at Colorado).

Do you notice something? 2006 has 4 200 yard games in that note. ummmm, we won 2 games that entire season did we not? So there has to be two losses that year in which we rushed for over 200. Baylor and KSU. Someone correct me if I'm reading this wrong.
You are correct.
So much for Plati the Stat Master.
The key to the running game is quick ball movement, misdirection, etc. This is how Oregon springs their little RB for many yards.
This is also how Speedy was sprung on his 65 yard jaunt against UGA. They ran option. You can't run 32 dives with a 5'6'' tailback. It is simply not efficient.
Nice stat... see that Hackins?! RUN, RUN, RUN the dam ball!!
Remember how we were going to be a pound the rock team last year.....
At least this year we can
And Hawk's 10 win season thing last year...could that happen? One can dream.
3 down, 7 to go...
we have four WRs that can catch and run, and we're going back to the running game.
Whatever. Just win.
I love the way they have run the ball and by all means run it and get 200 yds, but they have have got to be passing for 250 a game with these wr's. You can't waste clemons, richardson, patterson and willjeff.
Pretty sure the one loss was 2006 @ Georgia. I believe that we had > 200 rushing yards at the half in that game.
Hey, they're spreading the ball around - one catch each per game.
Let's be clear here as well. The 2006 team was not Hawkins. All Barnett's players which were recruited to run the ball. Couple that with a QB who couldn't throw and you are bound to have some good rushing games.
I would imagine most coaches in the country have good win/loss stats if they run for 200+. That's just sound football. The real coaching comes in when you have trouble running. What are Hawk's stats when we have trouble running the ball? Wait, no need to look it up there have not been enough wins in his tenure for the answer to be positive.
