How Much Does Our Defense Improve?

hawaii's offensive line is not that good and they lost a couple of starters from last season. Our DL and blitzing LB's need to get after wittik and rattle him up, while building some confidence. Our DB's have an opportunity to make some plays, so they need to step up and get it done. Our offense will move the ball, we just need to get touchdowns in the redzone and not rely on our kicking game to win this.

I am predicting a fumble recovery on defense and a pick 6 from one of our corners.
their OL v our front is the key matchup I think. We win that battle and this isn't a close game.

You can argue the talent all you want.

All it does is to further demonstrate how bad the coaching was on that team. As a team they got off the plane expecting to lose, that was the norm and Embree and Co. had done nothing to change that.

Then Hawaii found the weakness in the way the defense was playing and went to work exploiting it, our coaches from all appearances made zero functional adjustments in game or at the half because UH kept running the same stuff all game if was just as effective late as it was early. It wasn't a fluke either because we saw the same thing over the rest of the season and the next year.

UH didn't win that game based on talent, it was all about preparation and the job the coaches didn't do.

Embree, post game: "Well............their quarterback ran the ball and stuff!"
