Who is "we" sucka?
I believe it is about $500,000 extra for 2 teams in BCS.
1/12 of each fee less Oregon and Stanford expenses...
try seven million
7 mil each or total?
I don't think you are correct.
for the 2nd bcs spot
rose bowl is worth 22m, total bowl pay out to the schools before expenses is somewhere at around 40m
I'm talking about CU.
Total payout of 34 million for 2 teams. Our take is 1/12 after they cover their expenses.
Prolly 2.5 mil.
Your about as good with numbers as you are with geography. In west Virginia currency maybe....
In US dollars, BCS games are 17 million except the championship.
Here is my source.
i took those numbers from a guy at rivals
Let's fight it out!
New Mexico - Arizona v Nevada - no number
Las Vegas - Boise v Washington - $1m
Holiday - Baylor v UCLA - $1m
Kraft Fight Hunger - Arizona State v Navy - $950k
Alamo - Oregon State v Texas - $2.25m
Sun - USC v Georgia Tech - $1.9m
Rose - Stanford v Wisconsin - $22.3m
Fiesta - Oregon v Kansas State - no number
These are the numbers I just got from Wikipedia
One Billion Dollars!
From the actual BCS website:
So the Pac-12 will bank approx. $28 million for having two teams in the BCS this year.
Not sure how the Pac-12 actually divides up BCS Bowl money, but most likely it is revenues less expenses divided amongst the conference members (Utah only gets 75% of a share this season) with the conference office also getting a share to pay for operating expenses.
Travel expenses to the Rose Bowl (Stanford) and Fiesta Bowl (Oregon) should be around $1.5 to $2mm total.
Anyway, to keep it simple, CU will take home approximately $2 million from the two BCS bowls.
These are the numbers for the 2011-12 bowls ... and it shows a conference´s 2nd BCS spot was worth $6.1m
$6,100,000 Fiesta (second BCS for PAC-12)
$837,500 Kraft Hunger
$456,250 New Mexico
$32,743,750 less expenses and tax
I probably should have been clearer. With 2 teams instead of 1 on the BCS, Colorado stands to make approx $500,000 MORE than with just the guaranteed Rose Bowl berth.
nice move to get into the pac!..now we just have to figure out how to compete!
just about enough money to pay off Embree's and EB's contracts-
