"Oklahoma State's unique fundraiser was expected to bring in hundreds of millions of dollars to fund school sports, based on the idea of purchasing $10 million life insurance policies on about two dozen boosters with the university as a beneficiary.
Instead, the so-called "Gift of a Lifetime" program created on the advice of top booster T. Boone Pickens has ended with Oklahoma State having spent $33 million with nothing to show for it."

What a bunch of dumbasses. The strategy was not a bad one, they just needed to follow it through.

The article doesn't give enough details to fully assess the plan, but betting against insurance company actuaries is a bad strategy IMHO.

:lol:Gee, at least CSU can send one pompom girl to a game with their fund raiser..:lol::lol::lol:

The Official Oklahoma State Fundraising Strategy:

Step 1: Sign up big buck booster for life insurance policy
Step 2: Kill said booster
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!

Well obviously the last step in the plan is to schedule 'accidents' for the insured...

I was going to make some smartass remark about buying the policies and putting the boosters in a poorly maintained small plane. Then I realized that really isn't funny when it comes to OSU...

This is actually the rare case where the question marks aren't necessary.

I'm wondering which of our members AllBuffs should take out policies on... and who we can trust to make sure there are "accidents".
