Has us going 8-4 (5-3) to finish 2nd in the North.

He also has Nebraska going 11-1 (7-1), so don't think he doesn't have his Corn-colorad glasses on.

Interestingly, he also forecasts the Nubs beating the Buffs in a close game. Taken together, this means he's actually seeing us go into the last game at 5-2 in the conference with Nebraska at 6-1. So he's seeing us playing our last Thanksgiving rivalry for the division title and he's seeing it go down to the wire.

Forgetting the results he predicted, let's hope he's right about that last part.

I wouldn't be surprised if NU went 11-1. Udub and UT are their big games and those are both winnable.

Probably a homer jab at the Mack 10, really, what else would Niblet fan hope for but NU to win the B12 norte and CU take 2d place in the norte to add insult to injury on the wya out the door? It's not like Steve Nipple will have to hear about next year...he'll be covering the B10/12

Hell, I would take that kind of season for the Buffs. I like the prediction even if it is by a guy who wants to see both us and the nubs stick it to the conference on our way out.

Not sure what to think of the nubs...I just don't think they can deliver on the hype/expectations this season. You don't just lose Suh and not miss a beat on D...and the fact that they don't have a front-runner for QB? Seriously...it cannot be because they are all 3 playing out of this world.

Will be interesting season for sure.

I agree. Suh is making Detriot look good this year. The guy might have been one of the best DT's in college football history.

i posted this before, but we have a family friend who played for OU in the late 60's, HS head coach in Oklahoma and Texas for 30 years....was pretty tight with staffs at OU, Arkie, ATM, and OSU over the years, turned down more than a few college assistant jobs....he says Suh is the best DL he's seen since Leroy Selmon.

Nebraska wasn't that good last year and this year they figure to be worse.

i think NU loses @UW or @ATM. possibly to UT (not the gimme huskerfan seems to think) and maybe @OSU or @KSU.

ATm will beat NU or OU at Kyle. Ags have been beatable at home but they'll be sky high for those two games....esp if one or both are in the top 5.

not that good? really? One tick away froma big 12 championship, 10 win season, and a shutout win in a major bowl game? I would say thats pretty good. Their offense wasn't the greatest, but their D and special teams made up for that.

I see your point, but I'm unwilling to give them any credit until they beat someone that ends up in the top 25.

It seems the husker fans consider that UW game to be a "nice little test" but not a serious threat for a loss. UW's offense was very good last year and they return essentially all their starters on that side of the ball, which of course includes Locker.

While true, it seems everyone wants to forget about NU's embarrassing 9-7 HOME loss to wittle Iowa State, a game with about a billion Husker turnovers (OK, just eight, but still). That was last year's NU as well. People seem to only have memories that make it back to just the Big 12 title game.

That said, I would love to see the CU/NU game be for the North title. I don't know if we're up to it, but it would be nice.

Just about every team has a slip up every year. Cu had several in their 1990 season, does that make them not a good team?

Nebraska is going to have 3 to 4 slip-ups this season. Their offense is just as rank as last season, and they lost Suh, who was a very special player. Just watched the B12 CCG from last season, Suh was such a difference maker and the only reason that game was close (that and NU's excellent special teams). They'll lose to Washington, A&M, Texas, and Colorado.

Hmm. And how did CU's line do against him last year? Hence, one of my many reasons for positivity about the coming season.

Not a chance that they lose 3-4 with this schedule. I'll take a wait and see attitude with the offense, but logic would suggest that another year in the system with virtually the same players means they should be improved. Suh was great and I'd never downplay his impact on last season, but if you really watched the CCG again you would have noticed that McCoy had quite a few plays where he had time in the pocket and couldn't find ANYONE to throw to. That's not Suh, that's the secondary, and they're back. Washington is a tough place to play due to the stadium. Great atmosphere, great fans, and very loud. Locker is a great talent, and he will put up some points. The problem is their defense...it's horrible. I'll take a W there. Texas game will be a toss-up. Horns never play well in Lincoln, even when heavily favored. The place will be rocking and we'll find out just how good Gilbert handles a hostile environment outside of the state of Texas. I'm still not buying Texas' running game focus. They have talented backs, but their OL sucks. Their secondary will be the best in CFB, but they replaced a ton up front and in the LB corp. If NU can run, game over. If not, UT wins again. I'll give you the aTm loss. I don't see any way NU wins a shoot out in College Station. CU? Puuuuuuhhhhhhleeeeeeeeesssssssseeeeee.

Don't be a dolt. Of course there is a chance that Nebfuska loses 3-4. There is also a chance - outside - that they run the table and play for the MNC. But anybody who claims there is "not a chance"? Not someone worth paying any attention to.

I see you quickly dispatched Iowa State 2009 from your memory - a team with a bad offense can lose every game if the bounces go against them.

And I did really (really) watch the 2009 CCG game - McCoy had trouble finding receivers because the Huskers could rush 4 (because of Suh) and drop back 7 and still get pressure (Suh). There is no one in college football, let alone anyone on the Huskers roster in 2010, who is going to have the same impact as Suh.

You give Colorado no chance against the Huskers, yet it is a tight game every year that you're lucky to win when you win it. Last year? Special teams was the difference, period, otherwise CU wins that game. You will kindly alter your perceptions.

Hoo-Hum, if it wasn't for Special Teams, which is just a huge aspect of the game. You sound like the fan equivalent of Dan Hawkins. If only the little things, like special teams, would pop.

Of course not. Every championship-winning team gets there with a certain degree of luck. And yes, those teams sometimes have clunkers. But, I'm sorry, that was one of the most pathetic displays of football I've seen in some time.

All I was intending with my previous post was to remind folks of just how bad NU was at one point last year.

Admit it, more often than not the last 15 years the CU/NU game is a down to the wire game, throw out the records. Very similar to CU/CSU. ANY Nebraska fan that think CU has NO chance, truly does not know that much about this series.

8 turnovers isn't just the bounces going against a team. It's a complete and total fluke that you could not duplicate if you played that game a million times over. Again, if you look around on here, it's everyone claiming Suh was the whole team, but he sucked when he played CU. So which is it? How did NU still win against CU if Suh was the only reason for success? Is every single publication wrong? Is every other guy on the defense a complete chump? Seems to be what you're indicating here.
You're absolutely right about CU playing a close game almost every year. They will have a chance, but the magnitude of the game, the significance of it being the last in the series and the last in the conference, along with it being senior day makes it heavily in NU's favor. Bottom line: your original post said THEY WILL lose 3-4 games. THEY WILL lose to UW, UT, aTm, and CU. Don't speak in absolutes if you don't want to be challenged.

I see the Huskers losing to Washington and A&M, not even going to think about the CCG.
