I want to see how CU plays against Utah - it will tell us a lot about this team.

Last place in p12 recruiting is the only data point you need to see at this point. MM may win a few games next year but will never get out of the bottom three until recruiting gets out of the bottom.

The only thing that would make me feel good about MM is if I saw some really good things happening with COLORADO high school coaching community. That's where the bread is buttered.
The bread is not buttered in Colorado high schools if you are implying that's where we get the bulk of our good players.

Well, the Buffs didn't anything but quit, and had an outside shot at pulling off a miracle with their 3rd and emergency 4th string QB's at the end of the game.

So what does it mean?

We have fundamental issues on offense, with maybe even more depth issues on that side of the ball than on defense. We also have a very poor FG kicking unit.

We'd better hope some of the guys red shirting will be significant, quality contributors next year. I wonder how they are progressing?

Or have open tryouts on campus. There has to be someone that can kick a damn fieldgoal

The thing that no one has been able to explain to me is that we have 2 scholarship kickers... and the "accurate guy with limited range" is the kickoff specialist while the "big legged guy with limited accuracy" is the field goal kicker.

Does this make sense to anyone? Please help me here because I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Gonzales has the leg. I'm not sure about his mental game. But he definitely has mechanical issues. Maybe an actual ST coach who knows something about kicking mechanics would be a good idea rather than a position coach put in that position? And I know these kickers have non staff kicking coaches that work with them. So, maybe, an actual guy on staff isn't that necessary.

It makes perfect sense when you factor in our "special" teams coach

Neinas explained it earlier this season by saying he didn't want to use one guy for both duties because he wanted them to have fresh legs. Got that? We have O-linemen and backs playing 70-80-90 plays a game, but a kicker can't kick a ball 7 or 8 times a game because he would get tired. Jesus, is he fired yet?

The only explanation is that this is factually not true. Maybe Graham actually has the bigger leg and in head-to-head battles in practice, Diego made more FGs?
If that's not the case, someone is taking crazy pills.

I'm not sure there's a coach on staff in America who actually works with the kickers on technique. There's private guys for that and they don't take up one of the precious slots on a football staff. The private coaches make themselves available for marketing favors. I'm not current on the CU situation, but I am sure Neinas is not actually working with the kickers on techniques.

This may be Mike's directive. I know that is how he treats RBs, and why we have a platoon system instead of sticking with a back. I think its dumb.

I'm kind of thinking Treadwell works with our kickers.
