What's the deal with co-DC's anyway? That title sounds pretty weak to me.

Say Troy Walters wasn't recruiting coordinator, just a really good WR coach. Now imagine that he's getting WR coach job offers from bigger schools. As a way of keeping him CU might offer him a WR coach/Passing game coordinator title and a raise which pads his resume and gives him a promotion. This might be enough to keep him.

Sounds about right.

Wait and see for me. He will have a lot of learning to do from MM and will need to show progress in improving the D. Jury out.

How has this approach worked for CU in the past? The Pac 12 is not a conference for a defensive coordinator to "learn on the job". CU has fallen on tough times in football in the past decade but we still aren't so little league that we need to go that route.

Working under a HC with DC experience, it can work out. That is the difference between now and in the past.
