I'm sure Tyler means well in this BDC interview, but...

I almost get the feeling he is overlooking CSU.

"I`m not going to put a number of wins out there, but I feel we can definitely make a bowl game. That would be a good start for us going into the Pac-10 eventually," Hansen said. "If we get a good start in the non-conference games, I feel like we can make a run at the Big 12. We have some good non-conference teams coming in here like Georgia. If we can get a win against Georgia and go to Cal and beat Cal, I feel like we can really get a jump start on the Big 12."

I may be reading into this too much, but we as a fanbase tend to overlook CSU a lot, and I wonder if our team feeds off that vibe. CSU came into Folsom last year and smacked us around in a game that set the trend for the season. Colorado should be focused on beating them, and soundly, this year if they want to start the season right to be in a position to make the Georgia and Cal games mean something.

I doubt Tyler or the team is overlooking the CSU game. It is a must win for the program.

I think that in June it's okay for Tyler and other players to be looking at the whole schedule and thinking about some of the big matchups. I'll be upset if Tyler talks about any opponent besides CSU within 2 weeks of the game. Now, not so much.

    Buffedup,
If you listen to 1510 radio Mile High Sports link http://www.milehighsports.com/Article.asp?id=1307299 or the Portland radio interview...http://bit.ly/dcW0k9..both Tyler expresses the focus he personally has on CSU and watching their game film from the previous two years. You are definitely reading too much into the article. By the way, if you want to look deep into the article, what was the purpose? Look carefully.

I wish Tyler and all of his other teammates would lay off the interviews. Let your play do the talking.

I can identify with the unease we all feel when a current Buff puts his foot in his mouth or writes a verbal check that can't be cashed on the field, but it's refreshing to see this over a lack of media availability because of a grudge the Hawk regime may have with reporters. Interviews = exposure for the program. Especially doing interviews now in Pac-12 media markets.

yup. it's a little premature for our guys to be concerned with what wins "mean". kind of cart before the horse. win the games, figure out what they mean afterward.

All of these interviews don't really mean much imo. The best kind of exposure for this program will be on Saturdays, Hopefully winning some ballgames.

Until we start winning some games, no one out there will take Colorado seriously. No matter how many interviews we do.

Right on...we are on NOBODY'S radar screen, and that will not change until (unless) we win again....

The first thing Dan needs to do for this year's first practice where the entire team is together, is take them into Folsom with all the lights off at night, take them down to the 50 yard line and get a team huddle going on the ralphie logo. As soon as everyone is there, hit every light and turn on the video board and show them all the lowlights from that game against CSU last year, and in between everyone lowlight show clips of CSU rushing our field and jumping around as a team on our logo.

I was there in that stadium last year and watching that crap at the end was DISGUSTING! I kept thinking that someone should be filming this and every CU team that ever preps for CSU should watch it and take in what can happen when you overlook someone.

Oh, and I am pretty sure, Highflyer is a hick.

last year we played like $%^& and we still had chances to win...exit Lil Hawkins and insert Hansen....not sure how much we gain yet...except for a W against CSU.

He's not wrong. Beating CSU does nothing for the programs national perception and little for morale. As always, a loss against CSU means MUCH more than a win. Showing up on the road against Cal though, and beating Georgia at home, will make people stand up and take notice that CU is on it's way back.

That said, he's pointing out what will help bring the program back, not necessarily what they're focusing on.
