Maybe, the reason that Bohn et al have not pulled the trigger is that they don't have a transition plan in place. Maybe all the speculation about McCartney stepping in and saving the day is nothing more than "internet scum" rumors. is it possible that Bohn has not even been given the opportunity to pursue and interview potential replacements? Is it possible that they don't have a plan B or a plan c? Is it possible that the assistants have been sippin the kool aid and have demonstrated solidarity with Lt. Dan?

Is there the possibilty that Distephano and Benson are more interested in preserving their own jobs when it is a real possibilty that a football buyout would be seen as controversial when faculty and programs are being cut due to budgetary problems? By waiting 3 more weeks does the cost of the buy out go down significantly?

    Just some questions for discussion.

It's possible. It's also CU could still make a bowl game this year. I put the odds as being approximately equal at this point.

No more excuses we need some real leadership up there. Just who is in charge up there besides Frody?

One other thing...If in fact they are working a buy out or a firing or whatever it is they are doing I am certain that the general counsel for the university has to be involved. I would imagine that Hawkins has representation as well. His attorney is probably demanding maximum buy out (I would if I was representing him) For all we know they may have been negotiating this thing for the last couple of months.

I think Bohn is just really poor in this aspect of management. This isn't an isolated incident, as we watched Patton dangle for a year with basketball. Bohn thinks that he doing the 'right' and ethical thing by allowing the coach to finish the season. What he doesn't seem to get is that he is making a bad situation (for everyone involved) worse. This is really ugly right now. Hawk's behavior is completely out of line, the team is in disarray, and now there are all kinds of horrible rumors floating around (Cody, coaches... probably both false). He should have nipped it in the bud after Cal.

The complete and total lack of leadership by the university president (by not allowing the athletic director to do his job), by the athletic director (for not doing his job), and by the head football coach (one answer at post game press conference you spineless coward) is really amazing.

A friend of mine is tenured Prof at CU. He indicated that DiStef and Benson were sympathetic to this last year when the faculty complained. I believe everyone got a pay cut last year. They will not do the pay cut again this year and the situation is different
