Whoops. Thought this thread was about something else. Carry on. :smile2:
Misleading thread title. Thought this was about giant hot chicks.
Pre ordered last week for the PC...can't ****ing wait
This game is awesome. Played for a few hours today, and it draws me in like playing Halo did in the dorms. Quick matches, lots to do. Totally different than Battlefield 4, which I've also been playing.
This game is up to the hype, and is the first 'must get' game on either console
Xbone. 360 or PC? MY curiosity has been piqued but I'm not sure if I can take the plunge on Xbone yet. I'm still running 360 and don't have a gaming rig currently.
I love the battlefield serious but BF3 was getting to stray a little too much from what made the series great. I skipped BF4 for now. What makes Titanfall different and capture that mistique? How is it different than the CoD style of gameplay that most games seem to be moving toward?
It reminds me more of Halo 2. The games are fast and intense, which helps me play for a few hours here or there.
The movement is great, as it opens up vertical space into the game, and gets rid of shooting corridors which you find in CoD.
The Titans also change the dynamic of the game. They aren't overpowered at all, but they help create map control and change combat dynamics when they appear.
There are some weaknesses. The matchmaking is atrocious, so you often run into lopsided matches. I also think there isn't enough customization. Each weapon and Titan has a handful of unlocks, but not enough for my taste. There aren't even any cosmetic customizations.
My biggest gripe is the the number of maps. I don't mind a multiplayer only game, but I was hoping we'd have more like 20 maps, instead of 9 to 12. Same for game modes, the basics are there, but they need another 2 or 3 that take advantage of the games characteristics.
Those are my complaints, but overall I love it. Jump in and play for short bursts, and have compelling and interesting games that reward lots of different play styles and skill levels.
I will probably be playing this for awhile
Also, I'm on XboxOne
They've released a patch that is testing a new matchmaking mode. It is a definite improvement, although it still has some work to do.
Beyond that, what I want more than anything for this game is more content. The mechanics are stellar and fun, but I just want more more more stuff.
Could not agree more
Haven't played a console video game in over ten years. And the only ones I played were sports games. Just watched a video of this game and while the graphics are unbelievable, it looks intimidating to play. Does it require brain power? So much going on. Something to be said for the simplicity of space invaders.
You fellers still pumping each other?
If you haven't played shooters before, and you haven't played video games in a decade, then yes, this would be intimidating for you.
That being said, it has a number of little mechanics that help newbies. There are braindead bots that you can farm and still help your team, and you get 'burn cards' which you can play when you spawn that give certain advantages.... stuff like that.
Bots and burn cards to play, yep still intimidating. Although I bet I would pick it up fairly fast, but definitely sounds like a time investment.
These games have gotten so out of control, might have to do it someday soon. Will use the excuse it's good exercise for the brain.
It is easier to get into than Battlefield, I will say that much.
How the heck do you have time for video games?!? Our little bundle eats up the whole day.
I haven't played Battlefield since she arrived, but Titanfall allows me to play 2 - 3 games while she naps in my arms
Free update/DLC coming soon:
They are also releasing paid DLC
Would have liked more than 3, but I guess that is about the going rate for map packs these days.
Just bought on 360. 2 hours in. Love it so far. It's ODST meets Mirror's Edge meets CoD MW or MW2.

Wow, the new COD looks like it just ripped off Titanfall.
I haven't seen it yet, I will have to check it out.
I stopped playing Titanfall... not because it isn't great, but because I'm horrible.
I watched part of the release event last night and I thought the same thing. Minus the fun fully 3d firefights and innovative new gameplay. I'm intrigued but I'll probably skip it.
