Well, one thing Hawk seems to do consistently is get the team ready for one big road game a year.
In 2006, after a rough 0-3 start with losses to Montana State, CSU and and almost getting shutout at home by ASU, the buffs traveled to #9 Georgia and had a 13-0 lead late in the 4th quarter, before a huge bulldog rally late fueled by a key Charles fumble.
In 2007, the buffs completed their season sweep of the Big 12 south by beating a high powered Texas Tech team on the road.
In 2008, the buffs desperate for a win to become bowl eligible, took a surprising 14-0 lead on rival Nebraska. The buffs fought with the better husker team back and forth all day, and the huskers needed their longest FG in school history to beat the buffs in the end.
So there it is, while the buffs are still only 1-2 in those games listed, there does seem to be a pattern of one road game a year that we coem to play against a better team than us. Is this the one for 2009?
We'll see
