Pretty low iyam. But not sure how other DB's stack up
Two low bench press numbers from two CU players at different positions. Pittman is full of **** with his weight room nonsense
The results for 2011 are not listed yet, but according to the link below, the "recent best" for CBs was set in 2007 at 27 reps, so 24 doesn't seem that bad...
what beltway said.
27 is the high for a CB, from 2007 (if I am reading the NFL.com website correctly).
Not only that but he's listed as a top performer in bench.
Pretty good iyam.
This thread is like a rollercoaster.
Licorice whip gonna whip your ass
Licorice whip? Licorice whip? Licorice whip? Three licorice whips...
I know, I know...orange whip...
Weird - you can only get the CB/DB results if you search CB and SPEC together.
Both Jimmy and Jalil put up 24 reps; only two did better: one at 27 and another at 26.
So that's pretty darn good IYAM.
Are Akamura(sp?) and the kid from LSU not at the combine?
iyam what iyam
I've been waiting 3 years for someone to do that.
Pretty funny IYAM.
Didn't I see Solder telling a couple of reporters that he did a personal record of 21 presses? That's just weird if we have corners doing 24.
Nate needs more creatine
McShay had a report about Cam today...his interview questions. A guy with all the physical tools but concerns about his attitude. This has JaMarcus Russell written all over it.
That's reps at what weight? 235?
I wouldn't pick him. He's dumb as a rock and I don't know if he can make the throws.
edit: Plus moral issues.
For NFL teams picking QBs is going to be a real problem as long as all these college teams are running the spread. These QBs can put up ridiculous numbers in college but just don't have the skills developed to play in the NFL. The can't make the drops from under center, make the play action fakes and go straight into their reads. They don't have experience making anything close to the multiple reads that the NFL requires.
Some will pick it up and develop into decent players, others will not do the work or just don't have the mental aptitude and will be bust.
Who knows if Newton will be one of the ones who actually makes it but a high first round pick and the associated contract, even if it is much cheaper than before with the new contract is approved is a big risk.
Bad move. He's an entertainer and an icon.
Did they run 40 times and the other drills yet or is that today?
All DB stuff is today (right now)
Jalil's first 40 time was not in top 10... Jimmy goes later...
Agh, agh, agh, agh, agh, agh, agh, agh!
