Joshua Tupou, CU Buffs lineman, facing assault charges in University Hill brawl

Quit baiting each other, you two. This is a serious thread and should be handled with Kool Aid videos and fabricated quotes.
I want to punch the guy in the Kool Aid costume in the face.

1. good things happen after 1AM
2. have 'Tini and Slider met in real life? which one fucjked the other's gf?

I don't get where we are fighting? I commented on the story and tini like a moth to a flame has to comment back for whatever reason.

On that note:

"Based on first-hand accounts from party-goers, illustrators have been able to reconstruct the events that allegedly occurred regarding Mr. Tupou. The police report goes on to say that the dilated eyes, intermittent giggling, slurred speech and seemingly random expressions of undying love voiced by eye witnesses does call into question the veracity of these reports and significant inconsistencies in eye witness accounts have been noted."

1. Mr. Tupou reportedly breaks through property fence, "freaking out" party-goers and leading to a violent altercation.

2. Mr. Tupou has admitted his presence on the night in question.

3. Mr. Tupou has turned himself in to authorities and has been charged by the Boulder DA on several counts.

See? I am old wise one. Let us all relax and wait for this to find resolution. I will say this, however. Nothing good ever happens after 1:00 am.

Hey, now. That's most of the sex I've had in my life... and each time I know that it was good for at least one of the parties involved.

Not the nature of a message board but probably a pretty good idea.

Hope for the best prepare for the worst then realize we are CU.
The "we are CU" line is so dumb and just trying to play the victim card

Chris Tetreault????

This deserves rep.

Honestly, this really isn't that big of a deal. We're so conditioned to expect the worst around here that we immediately push the panic button when something like this happens. We need to all relax a little here. This isn't going to have any impact on his eligibility or playing time.

Actually from the perspective of a fan we always pay more attention to the negatives, and we have had our share of hits.

Truth is that this stuff tends to hit every program, not just us. Problem is that when a team is as thin on talent as we are it is much harder to absorb the shot than for most teams.

Brawl makes it sound like ti was a riot that involved a lot more people.

So, I assume the players will go before the student affairs "court" thingy? What the hell do they call it? They can pass down punishment all the way up to expulsion, correct? I mean, in this case, it would be out of Mac's hands I believe.

It's 12:21 AM pals. Believe it or not, I'm working. With my new laptop and software, I can connect to all our servers. So I can work right from the old lounge chair.

You work on federal government projects, so we know that "working", "new laptop and software" and "connected to all the servers", are all code for viewing porn, 24/7 !!!

BTW, it is the Office of Student Conduct, an unconstitutional bit of self-righteous fluff as ever was! Its about a half step above what Marmalard and Neidermeyer conducted in "Animal House". (Rules specifically exclude the accused from retention of counsel to assist in defending an action that could affect your career and your life). Its about time someone nail these clowns for their BS.

My daughter had to "appear" before those dickwads. It was a joke.

I'm not judging JT, Lord knows I've been in plenty of scuffles. He just needs to know, you get held to a different standard being an athlete. It's gonna draw attention, try to make sure it's good attention. That said, idk what happened and didn't read about it. It just comes with the territory.

Best post in the thread. From what I have heard, it was not anything more than a typical college scuffle. It doesn't mean he should get a pass, but honestly if he wasn't a football player I am not sure charges would have been pressed. He is held to a higher standard as an athlete.

There's also a majority attitude that if you're a guy his size and strength that you should put up with things you wouldn't be expected to if you were 5'9" 155 lbs. Folks take the attitude that since someone is clearly going to win the fight if it gets physical and that he has to potential to seriously hurt someone with a single punch, that the onus is on him to walk away no matter how much the other guy is getting beer muscles or trying to prove his manhood by mouthing off to someone he has no business messing with.

As a big guy, I have dealt with similar. Whether it was little guys on the playground trying to show me up by cutting in front of me at the water fountain or a little guy with a bunch of friends behind him talking crap to my girlfriend or whatever. If I responded in any way, from verbal to pushing him off off me to make space to pinning him down without hurting him in order to send a message to kicking his ass... it did not matter. Most people, especially those in authority, treated me like I had been a bully because "just look at you and look at him".

I don't know what happened. I wasn't there. But if it was a situation like I described and can relate to, I sympathize with Tupou and have no problem with him delivering an attitude adjustment with enough restraint to avoid seriously hurting the person. If it was something else (like if he was being being a bully or making a drunken ass decision of breaking through a fence to force his way into a party to which he wasn't invited... then decking the first guide who gave him a "WTF, dude?")... then I am completely not on his side.
