BOULDER – University of Colorado women’s golfer Alexis Keating earned the opportunity to compete in today’s Qualifier for the LPGA’s Portland Classic. Keating tied for second in the Portland Classic Amateur Open at Langdon Farms Golf Club in Aurora, Ore., last week. The Portland Classic begins Thursday at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.

Keating finished with a final score of 72, after recording four birdies and four bogeys during her round. The CU junior was 2-under through the first nine holes and then bogeyed No. 16 and 17 before paring the final hole. She finished just one shot back of the winner, 15- year-old Gigi Stoll who recorded a 1-under 71 and earned the automatic qualifier to compete in this weekend’s LPGA event.

If Keating finishes first or second in today’s Qualifier, she will earn a spot in her first LPGA event.
