has not made a FG since the short game winner against WVU, and he almost missed that. And we gave him a schollie?:sad1:

Kind of disappointing? How a bout very. Oh well. The Texas game his head had to be messed up after missing the first two. As for last night, the block wasn't his fault. The Guard practically fell over and let his man through.

Sorry for the personal attack, but it is kinda dissapointing.

It's not a personal attack. There are guys his age getting killed in iraq so if he gets some flack too bad.

He has a "money" ego but not a "money" leg.

I'm sure I'll get blasted for this but,to have guys go out and play every down, bust their ass and then GOLDFOOT comes in and keeps missing kicks, burns my onions.

I hate to say this, but..... if the staff has the gonads to replace the qb then...........

They don't have four backup kickers. They have one, and he's shown to be less accurate than Goodman.

Terrible situation to be in, for sure. It sucks when your kicker can't split the uprights. It hasn't cost us a game - yet, but it could.

Sorry, but he might have cost us the KU game.

I'll preface this by saying I didn't actually see the KU game, just read about it and heard about it. But I don't think he cost us the KU game. Throwing 2 INT's, taking a safety, and giving up two 4th quarter TD's in a 2 point game cost us the KU game.

Correct. Goodman certainly has struggled, but he did not cost us that game.

I still believe Goodman is going to get it together and be a fine kicker.

I think he cost us the FSU came personally. Two early missed field goals, (or was it three?)-- I think at worse we would have been down 14-9 going into the half. That is a much different game than 14-zip at half.

Even if we lose by more than three, when we have a sustained drive and then he misses a FG, it is a huge momentum breaker. I think that is what hurt CU worst at FSU. When we have to keep going for it on fourth, since we can't trust him to have a 50-75% chance of making it, and turn it over on downs often, it can lead to double digit losses, which makes you think that he was not the difference, when in fact, because of his misses and innaccuracy, we absolutely got there due to plays called to avoid letting him miss again.

I feel that with Crosby, we would have one less loss this year, maybe two. Now Tejas--- probably the best kicker in the world would not have helped there.

are you confusing the texas/fsu games? he missed one vs fsu and 3 vs texas. it was 19-7 at fsu at half and 21-0 vs texas at half (with the 3 missed FGs in the 1st half).

Maybe. The pain kind of blends after a week or two.:sad1:

Maybe it was Texas, where if we had made those FGs we could have been 14-9 at the half; instead, we kept giving them better field position after the missed FGs and they scored late if I remember right. Worse field position and 9 points might have made it a 14-9 game at half, which is much better for team morale than 21-0.

While you're right about this, it wouldn't have mattered if he had made all three of those kicks against UT. The misses kept the game from being close, but the outcome of the game was not an issue.

:stupid: Something must be done re the kicking situation. We need to be able to get points when drives stall out in the red zone. Can't go for it on 4th very time. :wow:

True, there is only one back-up kicker. But the guy who's making 'em in practice isn't making 'em in the game. Maybe the guy who is missing a few in practice might make 'em in the game - who knows?

Point is, if the staff isn't afraid to make a qb change to spark the offense, then it seems reasonable that they would try another PK if the first teamer isn't getting it done. Nothing personal against Goodman.

Since you seemed to miss it, the other kicker can't plant his leg to kick accurately; Hawk said he has to have his knee scoped after the season. But he can blast them out of the endzone, so he still is doing that for us.

Goodman just has to get his mind right. We have no other choice as far as I know.

he doesn't have it between the ears....it will be a long season for him

Maybe YOU can't go for it on 4th every time... you haven't seen Hawkins' Madden Rating.

No, I didn't miss that. But I seem to remember reading somewhere that the leg might be stable enough to give it a try. Just can't remember where I saw that.....

One of the linked articles had Hawk saying that it wasn't like Goodman was shanking kicks all over the place, So I presume AG will continue to get his shot to correct the miscues and get his confidence back. Sure hope it happens quick.

TTech just offered their position to a guy who kicked a 30 yard field goal during one of those "make a field goal win a prize" sweepstakes in between quarters.

 I was just gonna post that and say that the Buffs should do something like that....at least an open tryout
