STANFORD, Calif. – Shalaya Kipp recorded the second fastest time in the world this year for the 3,000-meter steeplechase in her specialty event debut late Sunday night at the Payton Jordan Invitational.

Kipp, the third best all-time CU steeplechase performer, finished first in her section and recorded the fastest time of the meet overall at 9:39.12. The time is the fastest in the steeplechase by a Buff this year. The record came at a great period for the three-time All-American before the Pac-12 Championships in two weeks, May 17-18.
