"A proposal by Don Beebe to hold the Big 12 together with 10 teams is in play and being considered by Texas, sources say."

The longer this drags on, the better. Maybe Don can pull the proverbial rabbit out of his @ss and we don't get stuck in B12 South.

Or the longer Texas drags this out, the more exasperated OU gets, and they might join the SEC bandwagon with A&M. Or the more irritated the Pac-11 (it feels awesome typing that!) will get. Anything that keeps us from having to deal with Texas and their breathtaking arrogance.

Is Dan Beebe an Italian mob-boss that he needs to be called the "Don"?

I'm glad we got out from under La Texas-Nostra with our lives!

If Texas and their minions don't join the Pac 10, does CU realize their revenue will actually be going down? Pac 10 was the lowest revenue generating conference last year. Couple that with the penalties for leaving the Big XII and you might be stuck with Hawkins for awhile and no money to improve facilities/add Baseball etc.

Don't you guys kind of need Texas to go to the Pac for financial reasons?

Serious question: Do CU fans wonder what the Pac saw in CU to begin with? I suppose Denver tvs, but what else? If you were the Pac 10, would you take Colorado?

CU is a better fit than any other Big XII team for the Pac. But I'm trying to figure out why the hell the Big 10 had any desire to have 'braska and their red flanneled hay seeds join them. I just can't figure that one out.

And the PAC only had the worst TV deal because it had the oldest TV deal. The California markets are much bigger than the Texas markets (LA over Dallas, SF over Houston, then San Diego, Sacramento, Fresno dwarfing San Antonio, Austin and the rest). Colorado's Denver market was the largest TV market in the Big 12 outside the Texas borders. We're the 3rd largest in the Pac 12 outside California, behind Phoenix and Seattle. Also, a major international presence due to our enrollments, especially in Asia.

In short, the PAC's new deal will be more than fine and a major improvement.

Please, enlighten me. How is the Pac 10 who only generated 90 million bucks as a conference (140 Million for Big XII, 220 million for Big Ten) going to increase their revenue by adding CU and say Utah?

CU actually dragged down the Big XII conference revenue (see Chip Brown's article today) so you must assume they will drag down the Pac 10 revenue as well.

Again, what facts do I have wrong?

I bet when the dust settles, the Pac will have more money than the big 10 and be the most powerful conference in CF. Now, go talk some **** to Michigan fans, good bye little pink skirt! It was nice ruining your program, which you still haven't recovered from.

You might make more money if you get Texas and the minions but without them, how do you propose increasing the Pac's revenue? And if you get Texas, you also get the academically challenged schools OU, Okie Lite and Tech.

I am honestly trying to figure out how you can justify that the Pac will increase revenue. The conference would technically be watered down football-wise with the addition of CU and Utah would it not? The conference already has piss poor ratings due to the late start times in Pacific Coast time, how will they remedie that?

For one, they expand by a time zone and they can also add a championship game. Are you really trying to argue that the Pac-10 will not increase revenue?

I know this: If Texas joins you make more money with a Pac 10 network.

I don't know this: If Texas does not join, how do you make any more money than in the Big XII? Care to share all of this information you act like you have?

you dig up the facts. I'm not gonna waste my time on a troll from a different conference that is totally irrelevent to CU now. By the way, all your facts are wrong

Yep. Per school there is no reason to believe that adding Utah and CU increases revenue PER SCHOOL. Do you have facts that show otherwise? Remember, CU was a school that dragged down revenue in the Big XII.

We definitely get more money with Texas. Minions are not needed. I'm of the opinion that I'd rather not deal with Texas and their drama. No amount of money is worth their toxicity. As it's looking more and more likely that UT will be part of the deal, I'm going to have to deal with it. The minions, on the other hand, are only being discussed for two reasons: 1) The pac supposedly wants a 16-team league and 2) UT supposedly wants them - ostensibly to solidify their influence within the conference.

Get this through your tiny head - CU fans are willing to accept UT - with reservations. We don't want them, but are willing to accept them. The minions may or may not be part of the deal. We'd prefer them to NOT be, but we aren't exactly in a position where we can start making demands. In any event, this conference will make MUCH more money than the B12 EVER did. Only a slope headed moron wouldn't see that.

You're assuming that CU would basically continue its worst stretch in school history by continuing to trot out the "dragged down revenue" argument. You're free to believe it, but history would suggest you are most likely wrong.

You also need to understand population trends because TV execs certainly look at when determining contracts. The West is potentially the fastest growing area of the country over the next 20 years.

Then there is the championship game, which has been a big moneymaker for every conference that has pursued it. Also, the Pac-10 increases its chances of getting two BCS teams per year with the expansion. That is more money there.
