What has everyone else decided so far?
I'm not going to this year. I'll miss talking with you and screaming at the other teams fans. But I don't know if I'm going to be in the state for the fall. Also my buddy doesn't have a job so I'd have to pay his way for the third season in a row. If I'm still in town I might pick up individual game tickets.
That kansas game was crazy with that dude behind you. My wife isnt always able to get Saturdays off. I will PM you and sell him the ticket at face if she can't go, if you or your buddy are interested.
Cool sounds great. I need to chill out at the games. But between that guy and the drunk kansas cougar next to me I had had enough.
I made the plunge to renew yesterday too. When I sent the check I also sent a little note along with it that voiced my displeasure about many of the issues we all have discussed here from time to time.
Drunk cougar was more of a grizzly bear. She kept caressing my arm long after I told her to please stop. Not good times.
did you say "go back to your trailer you ratty bitch?"
I think it would be interesting to do a poll to see how many Buff fans are going to renew their season tickets. Especially after all the discussions going on around here that have been happening as to whether or not to renew.
Though we did send a note back without any money in the envelope provided for renewals voicing our displeasure with the current state of affairs, and told them we could not unfortunately renew.
...it was the only way we knew how to voice our displeasure with the current CU coaching and maybe moreso let our displeasure with those on upper campus be known.
Essentially, we let them know we'll be coming back when we see a commitment to winning CU athletics as well as the academics. I think our athletes are being short-changed right now and it isn't fair to them.
We'll still go to some games, but no season tix...
(not to mention those in my old section got mad every time we jumped up and cheered or made any kind of noise or weren't sitting down)
haha nope but that would've been allsome.
Renewed but I should say the reason is at least 80% because of our tailgate. Falls wouldn't be the same without the tailgate in Boulder...sure would be nice to add some good football to those afternoons for a change.
I hate that ****. That's what you go to games for is to enjoy the atmosphere, cheer and make noise
I sent in my check today, including some $$$ for the Ralphie's kid section. If we can't keep this generation of Buff fans, we may as well start working on the next ...
My first senior year at CU, I picked up senior section tickets and departed the south end zone. It was an exodus that lasted slightly less than one half of football.
Now you may remember that Coach McCartney--though sainted retroactively--was considered by many to be a poor game-day coach (ahhhh, how silly that seems now). After one particularly fruitless series in the season home opener, I shared my displeasure by shouting, "Jesus H. Christ on a ****ing pogo stick, you ****ing ****-bag, asshat, McCartney. Pull your stupid ****ing head out of your goddamn ass!!!" (in retrospect, I may have personally been behind his decision to commit to the Promise-Keepers full time--but you know, I was 21 years-old).
So some girl, about five rows ahead of me, turned around and said, "Well, I guess you said every bad word there, didn't you?!"
To which I responded, "At least I didn't say, "C*nt!"
I then retreated to the student section, where I clearly belonged.
i wrote the check yesterday.
now all i have to do is go buy a stamp....
When Okruhe, was DC (or however you say his name) a couple of guys sitting in the row in front of me got on him for some really bad D-calls and they let him have it like you did to Mac. Then some old lady got up a couple of rows in front of them and told them both to stop swearing. To which one of them replied; When you start buying my season tickets, I'll super glue my lips shut if you want!!! She never said a word after that comeback.
I'm going to remember this one. I had a guy sitting in front of me who got all kinds of pissed off at me for voicing my displeasure with the product on the field. If he returns next year, I'll invite him to purchase my season tickets for me.
Everyone curses at football games. I know I have a couple of times myself, but I really try to curb this. There's too many kids in the stands for that kind of talk. I know I can only speak for myself, but you can voice your displeasure without the curse words. Especially when your a grown man.
Now if your in the student section, anything goes.
I generally don't curse. I'm sitting right next to my Dad, and that would be poor form. But I do let my feelings be known. There's always somebody who thinks I should just shut up and that the coaches and players feel just as badly as I do. Yeah, right.
Walrus, this is for you ...
I loved that Montana! It was like an episode of Seinfeld, in that all of the elements came together in the end--except it wasn't about nothing. Well done, Sir!
Also, I've got a new signature...
Love it - you'll get us both in trouble!
I'm surprised I wasnt escorted out during the CSU games last year... the booze combined with the poor product on the field led me to a steady stream of expletives yelled at the top of my lungs for 3 quarters of the game
Then that WAS you I saw slinking back to the student section while I was working security and had people yelling at me to throw you out! I simply turned around and returned to watching the game...
CU Navy ROTC....we had each other's backs!
Who are you kidding. You knew me, and just like anybody else who knew me, would have had me thrown out in an instant.
Yeah, you're right. I was just more interested in watching the game than dealing with your sorry ass and the future upper classman punishment on the younger mid that would follow at either the stadium cleanup the next day or at drill the following Thursday...
Ah, the days of providing "security" in the student section. I think people got away with much more than just murder when I was wearing the yellow Andy Frain jacket '91-'95.
