    STRICKLAND GETS BUSTED
Posted by Mike Florio on April 25, 2008, 7:20 a.m.

As it turns out, Browns cornerback Kenny Wright isn’t the only NFL defensive back who recently was unable to use his football skills to get away from police.

Niners cornerback Donald Strickland, on April 13, had a similar incident in San Jose. As police were trying to arrest Strickland for public intoxication outside a night club, Strickland ran away.

A half-block later, he fell down.

After a brief struggle with the cops, he got up and ran again. But he didn’t get far before they caught him.

Strickland was arrested for public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Under the more esoteric rules of Turd Watch, the fact that the arrest was kept under wraps by Strickland and/or the 49ers for more than a week allows us to re-set the “Days without an Arrest” counter to zero, knocking it down from its current perch of, um, four.

I blame this incident on the fact he got drafted by the Raiders.

Good old Donald... I always liked that kid. If we'd have had 2 of him in 2001 (instead of 1 of him and 1 Phil Jackson) we'd have won the title

This seems out of character for him though... he was a very heady guy, earned an engineering degree at CU if I remember correctly.

The only time toast didn't get burned is when the other team ran the ball.

My Dad and I penned a new moniker for Toast - the TAC master. While some WR's are masters of "YAC" - "yards after catch", Toast was the master of the tackle after the catch. He'd never actually break up a pass or intercept it. But he was brilliant at tackling his receiver AFTER he made a 20-yard catch.
