Just to document my savings vs. buying season tickets this year, I thought I would start this thread. Obviously, saving money was not my primary reason for dropping my tickets, but it was certainly a consideration. I'll have to dig up what my tickets would have cost this year for the true comparison, but this will be a start.

Our season tickets were in Section 108, right on the aisle between 107 and 108 approx. 30 rows up.

    Game 1 - CSU

Face value of tickets purchased (each) - $125
Average amount paid per ticket - $25

Got Club Level tickets at Invesco for $25 each. The seats were on the 20 or so, but we spent most of the game inside. Too hot outside.

    Game 2 - Hawaii

Face value of tickets purchased (each) - $50
Average amount paid per ticket - $9

Got tickets in Sec. 219 but ended up sitting in 214 so a group of 4 of us could all sit together.

Obviously I'm well ahead of the game so far. We'll see how things go for the rest of the season. I'll update as we go.

    Game 3 - Georgia

Face value of tickets purchased (each) - $50
Amount paid per ticket - $50

Bought tickets from the box office. Ended up sitting at the top of Sec. 208. I'm convinced there is not a bad seat in Folsom as these were about as bad as they get and they were not bad at all. Sat next to a guy doing the same as me. He dropped his seats this year as well.

If you are going to do this, it would be good to know where you typically sit, and where you are sitting this year...

I think your face value is a little inflated as season tickets could have been as cheap as $499 for a set of 4.

I'm going with face value on the tickets I buy.

Franklin field parking & donation $1000
Tickets for Sec. 118 per Game $116
Food and alcohol for tailgate per game $300
Game day with FRIENDS, fans and the BUFFS $ Priceless

That being said, we deserve better FIRE HAWK NOW.

    Nice.

I actually up'd my donation this year in order to get a parking pass too - now we're whooping it up on the B-School field. For me to have tickets in hand every week & a mighty fine tailgate with friends & family, it's worth it.

That being said, I'm looking forward to a new coach next year.

To be clear, I am not missing out on the gameday experience. I still have a tailgate spot and will still be in Boulder for every game. I just wanted to document what I pay each week to see how much I really save vs. my season tickets. I will likely get season tickets again when Hawk is gone.

The only difference for me is sitting in different seats each week, as well as spending much less money...

I just received a call from my "personal representative" in the athletic department asking if I was planning on attending any games this year. Is E-mailing me her contact info so I don't have to call a generic number or order online. Bohn is definitely putting in the effort, nice personal touch.

Not nearly as much as you would think. I don't think there is a bad seat in Folsom, with the possible exception of the far ends by Dal Ward.

Based on last year, my tickets cost me approx. $125 for two seats per game (including the donation). So for a $100+ savings, Sec. 214 is fine with me.

My dad had season tickets for 45+ consecutive years before dropping them this year. He has not heard a peep from the CUAD. No change in phone number or mailing address, either.

Is she part of the Buff Club, the Ticket Office, or some other part of the CU AD?

Didn't ask, just said she was my personal representative. I'll find out as soon as I receive the E-mail.

Make sure to request the happy ending. And don't tell Truly.

If he tells Truly, I'm pretty sure there won't be a happy ending...

Well, I got the call from the CU foundation last week. I told them that the last time they called I told them to call again once Hawkins is fired. He still hasn't been fired, so I'm still not giving them any money. I don't know if this is doing any good - probably not - but it's about all I can do to let them know that they're screwing up.

Rino: how much extra time are you spending getting tickets etc compared to when you got season tickets. That has to be part of the equation...

A grand total of probably 10-15 minutes so far, combined for both games.

I fully expect to have to pay face to get in to Georgia (or possibly even a bit above face). I might even buy those before gameday off craigslist or here.

Thanks for that SB...it looks like CU has hired a sports consulting firm called "The Aspire Group" (founded by a guy who was the brains behind the Ritchie Center/Magness Arena at DU) to do ticket sales and services for CU...I've heard of them before, Georgia Tech uses them as well for the same purpose, so your representative there is paid by Aspire but represents CU...

I'm sure CU IT can arrange it with outside contractors to give them colorado.edu e-mails if they represent the school in an official capacity...

Regardless, this is a pretty good move by Bohn to help get butts in seats - I'm actually surprised this hasn't been publicized too much by the AD at all yet even though it appears to be a fairly recent development...
