Here is a very short preview from a couple of Utah websites.

With the national meet fast approaching — March 6 to 9 at Middlebury, Vt. — the Utes want to improve on their third-place RMISA ranking beginning Friday and Saturday at the New Mexico Invitational in Red River, N.M. The Nordic races are scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Red River, N.M., while the alpine events are scheduled for the next week, Feb. 9 and 10.

Nordic events will kick things off in the New Mexico Invite at the Enchanted Forest Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Area with the 5/5-km Classical races on Friday, followed by the 10/10-km Freestyle events on Saturday. The Alpine portion of the New Mexico Invite will consist of slalom races at the Red River Ski Area on Saturday, Feb. 9 and Sunday, Feb. 10.

Meanwhile, due to a scheduling conflict in Park City, the Utah Invitational alpine events will take place Feb. 6 and 7 at Loveland, Colo. The Nordic competition is Feb. 8 and 9 at Soldier Hollow.

The Freestyle portion of the Nordic races continue today while the Alpine races will be next weekend.

The Alpine events for the UNM Invitational begin Saturday morning at the Red River Ski area in Red River, N.M.

Colorado took over first place as their men's and women's teams combined for 222 points on Friday to move their total to 662. Denver dropped one spot to second place with 633 points and Utah sits in third with 624.
