Record would be even better if Silas Redd hadn't transferred to USC. As for Silas, he he didn't exactly get a better season by leaving.
Their QB was close to xsferring to CU iirc. Looks like he made the right choice in staying.
The transfer losses weren't that great. PENN ST won't feel the pain for another couple years. The scholarship restrictions will really start to take effect and be compounded by difficulty in recruiting.
I would not use PSU as an example. They had a lot of seniors that could play football and they were on a mission. They did NOT lose a lot of transfers. They will be worse than CU in 4 years.
Our 2005 season, for instance, had a lot potential right up to the freak tornado at Ames.
Which I believe came in 3rd as the stated reason of CU's downfall.
