*** Official 2015 Colorado @ Arizona Basketball Game thread ***

Pretty sure they're turning on the hype machine for the weekend Utah @ Arizona matchup they're broadcasting. Sucks that CU's getting dickpunched as a by-blow of that, though.

Utah @ Arizona is on PAC-12 Networks. Good move or bad move to not have it more widely available?

Holy ****. I just assumed since they were talking about it all night. I don't get how ESPN wouldn't pick that one up... or how it ends up that Fox doesn't get to grab it if ESPN didn't. Glad I get PACN.

A lot of people will be missing a good game. I got Utah in a close one. McKale will be raucous.

Finally a game on the main ESPN so the whole country can watch......damn

As long as we look better than UCLA against Kentucky - yes my expectations are that low. That being said I am happy XJ and Scott are out, it is the right call and Tad is making decisions for the good of the season. I just hope the extra couple of days are enough to make a difference for those two.

Exceeded expectations - sure there were places to nit pick, but the team brought the effort to compete and everyone but Ski at least didn't stand by and wait for him to make it happen. I think Utah looks even better for having seen Arizona.

I'm a little leery of comparing the two top pac12 teams based mainly on performance against the Buffs. UofA had plenty of reasons to coast, and while it's not a great statement for their team character, I expect they will turn up the intensity a couple of notches for a Utah. And I'll be surprised if they don't perform better in Boulder, as well, as they've done in the past. Will be interesting to see.

I think you have to give Utah the overall edge over Arizona *thus far* based on resume. Arizona's losses are bad - Oregon State and UNLV. Good chance neither finishes top 100. Utah's losses have been to good opposition. I agree there's a chance Zona turns it up a few gears tomorrow, but Utah has been the better team so far.

Insult noted

Trying to be accurate not insulting. I did suggest the chance for a decent showing v UofA when most posts were dreading a Utah-style blowout.

So would you describe the tone as more "condescending" than "insulting" then?

Let's be nice. Buffs have been a horror show on the road and were missing 2 of our players. He had to go out of his way not to be completely condescending. :smile2:

No I think the best word is 'dismissive' regarding this Buff team. After some 16 games and majority IMO disappointing performances I'm trying to avoid getting my hopes up again. Three players on the team with potential NBA talent and going nowhere in the college world. I'm not ignoring them (obviously as I'm watching games), and I look for signs of a turnaround, but the sense that the team won't be jelling before the season ends is growing.

Today would be a great opportunity to change my thinking. First road win would be big.
