Most up and coming coaches keep an eye on what's graduating, and jump when they're poised for a fall. MacIntyre did it; Franklin did it. Not so sure what Mullen was thinking.
That's a huge buyout though.

Not by me. He did kill it that one year with keeping an unusually good in-state class home, though. I remember giving him props for that.

I can't believe that UK has one of the top 5 coaching budgets in the nation. Kentucky isn't exactly getting their money's worth.
That team might go undefeated now lol.
They basically returned everyone on a great offense that helps protect their suspect defense. Corey Davis is incredible, he's in the conversation for the best WR in this year's draft.
Dez is on College Football Live saying that he wouldn't vote Alabama #1 because they beat up on an inferior opponent. Said that USC looked like a high school team. Wow. That's the kind of talk that will have the USC faithful going absolutely ape****. Helton better win against Utah State.
Heard that, I was thinking around similar lines.
Aside from the first quarter, I think he's right. USC looked about as bad as they've ever looked in that game. Granted, Alabama is Alabama, but has USC ever been beaten that badly?

I can't imagine that there is an AD or university president in the country that would stand next to Briles at a press conference announcing his hiring.

His best bet is to pursue an assistant coaching or consulting gig like Tressel and the Colts a while back
Not much doubt there imho. Question I really have is does he leave the state of Texas? Honestly, I think it would be the best thing for him.
