Stumbled upon this article "Clip Off the Old Block", thought I'd post it regarding the '91 Orange Bowl and "the clip." Funny how the concensus within the article is that the play defintely was a clip, but in hindsight Buff fans still get so much grief as if the call was a gift.

Ah, good ol' Lou Holtz, you can always count on him for a major pep talk when needed.

Regarding Lou Holtz and the Buffs, he did definitively say after the 1994 Fiesta Bowl that the 1994 Buffs was the best team that he ever coached against. (knowing Holtz, I'm sure that wasn't the only time he said that, but high praise nonetheless...)

He also used to talk about opponents like Temple as if they were the greatest team in the history of football.

He did his homework too, picking up on the details of how Lou does those pep talks.

I loved Colorado's offense back then. Darian Hagan ranks right up there with Jack Mildren, Turner Gill, Thomas Lott, and Tommie Frazier as most dangerous option quarterbacks. How I miss the option...
