Once we hire a new coach, how long will you give him to turn this thing around?

Year 1. We have few seniors on this team and the new staff won't lose too many players they will need to count on. Add in the Pac12 parade, and the next guy should be equipped to win in 2011. No schedule yet, but if the schedule is anything like 2009 and/or 2010, 8 wins or fire his arse.

Hmmmm. I think that's a little aggressive. Figure we'll have Utah, Cal, Arizona, and Southern Cal all on the schedule next year. Plus possible games against Oregon and Washington. That's a tough conference schedule. Add in Hawaii on the road (always very difficult for visiting teams on the islands) and Ohio State on the road, and we are in for a nasty year next year regardless of who is running the show.

I fully expect to go 3-1 in the non-conference next year (CSU, Hawaii, Fresno State - wins; Ohio State - loss). Then, I don't think it's unrealistic to expect to have a winning record in the conference next year. USC is down, UCLA will be playing a freshman QB, Arizona will be breaking in a new QB. Utah will be tough, but we may actually have a chance at winning the South.

At the very least, a winning record is realistic. Most coaches don't get to take over teams with experienced offensive lines and an experienced QB. As I said above, 2012 is the scary year for me.

I just expect wins over teams we should beat and improvement year to year. No losses to Montana State or complaints about inherited personnel in the first year.
