They are not the greatest of all time and they have weaknesses. Bradford has not been pressured yet, and OU has not faced a defense like CU's on the road. Yes, I think CU's D could be as good if not better than Miami's. Maybe not as fast. The Sooners seem to always have a tough time when they visit Boulder no matter how good each team is. Expect this to be a closer game than most think, don't take OU in this one, cause they wont cover.

BTW, it is very rare for a national champion contender to go through a whole season with blowouts. Almost every national champioin has it's close calls throughout the seaosn and many times it's against teams that they should take care of soundly. I think if we pressure Bradford, you might see some new things out of him and they wont be good things (umm Josh Hypel 1999).

Anyway, that is my feeling of the game as we get closer to Saturday, please pass more kool-aide, it's tasty!

I sure as hell hope our D is better than Miami's after what OU did to them.

I think CU is OU's biggest test of the season so far.

    About Miami

    1. They aren't the Canes of old
    2. They aren't used to playing big OOC road games
I actually saw OU blowing the U out before that game was even played. CU will be a bigger challenge for the Sooners IMO.

The Canes aren't the Canes of old, but their D is still one of the best in the nation, consistently top-10 and would be this year except for their trip to Norman.

I do agree that CU will be a bigger challenge for the Sooners due to where the game is being played. On any given day with the proper amount of mistakes, TO's, injuries, and calls, who knows what can happen. If OU plays a clean game, I say they cover easily.

OU hasn't played a "complete" team to date and I don't know if that will change come Saturday. There were a couple of scrimmages against the Sisters of Saint Mary, one game against a very good D and one against a very good O. OU is a complete team and finding a weakness to exploit will be tough for CU to pull off.

I refuse to listen to all of the hype about OU until they win the big one on the national scene. We heard the same **** about how great they are many times before embarrasing blowouts by LSU and USC.

They are VERY good, but and I am anxious to see if the Buffs will stand up to them.

Miami is a better team right now than the Buffs.

That score vs. LSU was 21-14. Clayton dropped the game tying TD. Neither embarrasing or a blowout.

    USC is another story.

not to mention the Sooner defense gave up a couple of quick scores in the 1st half, and then jason "dental floss knees" white misread a zone coverage and threw an int returned for 6 by LSU's defense on the 2nd or 3rd play of the 2nd half....

Still, there should be at least a 2-year moratorium on any team's fans talking smack about another team's loss(es) after they were beatdown by a team from FCS/1-AA, or what ever they're called these days.

6 in a row according to the BuffZone. :wink2:

From my recollection I really don't remember that game being that close...I just recall you getting beat pretty soundly and having a very ineffective offense. I stand corrected though - apologize for my OU history inaccuracies. I really don't give a **** about your team so some details escape my memory. Part of my jaded perspective is also probably due to the *****s in the armor that were shown prior to that game - but folks still hyped the **** out of you. Didn't you lose to Kjuco or something at the end of that season...

Regardless, given the hype around that game, LSU wasn't even supposed to be in that game. Probably stupid hype since LSU was playing in a home game.

    And you are right, USC...

After those two seasons I couldn't help but think of you as the Buffalo Bills of college football.

KFrank - eat ****. We aren't the ones thumping our chests about how great we are now are we.

I'll talk all the **** I want about your losses. Hell, up until last year you probably claimed Boise State was from a FCS/1-AA division. Guess that changed in a hurry.

BTW - How about 8-0-1 - CU's record against OU from '89-99. Enjoy your run against us 'cause it probably won't be so easy in a few years.

Touch a nerve? Talk is cheap so talk all you want, but talking about another teams losses to someone else while more recently losing to lower division teams is about as weak as it comes. 5 in a row. You want to go back almost 20 years? Miami pulled the same crap and look where that got them.

As far as Boise State, I called for an OU victory but not like most of my Sooner brethren. They were an undefeated, top-10, senior-laden team (17 5th-year Seniors). I knew it would be a tough game in which OU couldn't afford to make any mistakes. They did and they lost. Fact is that OU was playing in the BCS, while CU was no where to be found so once again talking about another team beating OU while CU was stinking it up is weak.

I've already stated in another thread that I expect CU to be at the top of Big XII north soon. Hawkins is a good coach and the rest of the division is seriously lacking in that department. I fully expect Callahan to be gone by the end of next year and Mizzou always finds a way to screw the pooch with Pinkel at the helm. In my book, that leaves CU as the sacrificial lamb from the north in the future. :wink2:

No nerve. Just giving you some Allbuffs treatment. No free rides here bud - everyone is fair game.

Yes - thank you for pointing out that we were not in the BCS last year. I had the pleasure of attending all of our home games and another in Georgia to understand that simple fact.

Still won't ever stop me from revelling in your losses - and a few of your victories (CCG against Neb). Call it weak, call it whatever, but I find it quite enjoyable. Guess you can thank the fair-weather OU fans around here for that. It is amazing how they have come out of the woodwork here since 2000. In the bad times which were the 90's you heard nothing around here and now every clown in town is chirping up a storm about OU (minus the Nubs)...

I give OU credit, though, since that was just about the most entertaining game that I have ever watched.

I am also big enough to admit that we have not won a big game against a highly ranked team since 2001.

Miami is not a better road team than the buffs are a home team right now. There is no doubt in my mind that under the circumstances, CU in Boulder is tougher for OU than Miami in Norman.

pardon me, but I think we'll talk all the **** we want to on our own board thank you very much. Now shut the **** up and get me a beer. And not the natty lite **** you usually drink, either. Yeah, I know it's tough getting good beer when you only make $6/Hr at taco bell, but if you're coming to my house, you better bring good beer.

I will tell you what is weak. Going on another teams board and talking about how great you are. Do you need a freind? Do you need some faceless person on a board that you have never met to tell you how great you are so you can feel good about your pathetic life?

Get the **** out of here if you want us to talk about how great the Sooners are. After this week, I think the Sooners are getting close to the fuskers in my dislike department. **** you Sooner fans- and go get a self image and stop trying to get us to help you get one. I don't care how much we might lose by--no congrats will be forthcoming from me because so many jerkwad sooner fans have been festering here like a sore on Courtney Love's vaginal lips this week.

I'm going to apologize in advance to the two OU fans that i know of on this board that post respectfully and with class. I havent heard much from the others yet. So unbaised truth and Dustin (possibly others), this isn't really aimed at you guys, its at the other OU fans that give you guys bad names.

All i can say is that OU has been at the top of my list since 2004 in the Big 12 championship. Ever since that game I have never hated a school more and that includes me growing up in Los Angeles a UCLA fan and hating USC. The players you recruit at OU are some of the lowest class and that is reflect even more by your leadership. Your Coach is an a "prime" example of class, and I'm pretty sure he would run up the score on his own son's high school team if he had the chance (i hope he doesnt have a son though). I am so tired of having you Sooner fans come on this board and smack talk the last two weeks, not even the past week. You guys had to start two weeks in advance.

As to the class of your players. Who in there right mind would throw a drum out of there way when it was resting against the side of the field. I'm not talking about the sideline, im talking about the padded wall that surrounds Arrowhead field. You know who does, Dan Cody does. Furthermore i would be ashamed right now if i were a Sooner fan. Two years ago you got caught cheating, bending rules, paying people for work they didnt do and this wasn't only for football, it was basketball. I dont think i need to remind you of your own history though. Last year you were Beat by and 'lesser conference,' i think is how it was put. So I dont want to hear you talk about us losing to Montana St, because we never claimed to be a 'complete' football team last year. This past summer after suffering that bitter defeat at the hands of 'little' Boise st. You guys got rocked by another bomb shell by the NCAA. You have to renounce your wins for the entire 2003-2004 season(by the way, thank you for that, I've never had a better day at work than that afternoon.). Now i know we have had our troubles in th bast but damn, losing an entire football season because you cheated, that is way beyond anything that has ever happened in CU's history of infractions. Yes, we still get bad press for our recruiting mess. But i have to say that those afore mentioned, "games that were not played," seem to be a much worse than an endless court battle.

Now you may think that im just some crazy person spouting off cause was offended by something that happened earlier today, but let me tell you that is not the case. This is solely based on your fan's posts here and the behavior i've observed in Arrowhead and else where. The one thing that got me though, and still stings every time i hear it is this. When we sent a pep band last year to OU for the game in October. Some band members wanted to go get some hot chocolate and dinner at the concession stands because it was pretty frigid and it had been a long day. When they got to the concession stand, they were told that there was no food left and that the hot chocolate was gone. They were disappointed but just moved out of the way. As soon as the OU fans behind them stepped up to the counter, the hot chocolate and refreshments magically appeared again. Its funny, i dint know OU fans were magicians. No i know that football is a game of rivalry and that you should not fraternize or help the opposing team out on a game day; but does that mean that human decency goes out the window also? I would hope not. If you think about it, OU was the loser on that transaction. We were willing to give your program some of our money to keep your hush hush, under the table deals funded.

I'm done now, ill step off the soap box. You can respond to this if you want and please feel free to comment on something if i got it wrong. I like to be correct when i speak. I probably wont respond back though (mostly due to the fact that ill be involved with things up until the game form this point forward), unless its a correction. But please dont come onto this board flaming and leave your smug comments to yourself. WE like to talk football, facts statistics, those kind of things; not about smug little quips. I know its long, See you at the game saturday.

    GO BUFFS!

Hey "freind," show me where I was talking about how great I am or for that matter, how great OU is. Yea, I think they are one of the top-4 teams in the nation but that makes me no different than most any one else that follows CFB across the nation.

Some of y'all are funny talking about OU being in the NCG twice and getting beat. Yea, I responded to that 'cuz I do think its weak and pointed that out. Responses: **** you, eat ****, get me a beer, no-life, ya-da, ya-da. Nice.

    BuffTuff,

I enjoy going to other teams boards to get a different perspective on the teams and the upcoming games that you won’t usually receive on your own board, which often times ends up in a massive circle jerk.

It’s a slippery slope when people start talking about the class of another team’s players. Glass houses and all that. OU has some very classy players and the majority do a lot of community work and several have received national recognition, along with Hypolite – congrats.

Personally, I’m proud of the way Stoops handled the Bomar situation. I didn’t get caught “cheating” and when the facts were discovered, Stoops said he did not want the perpetrators on his team. As has been mentioned by many people and even NCAA Prez Brand, the speed and handling of the situation was impressive. OU has not had to renounce any wins to date and I seriously doubt that will happen in the end. We’ll see. Stoops runs a clean program and this whole situation was a tremendous blow. It may be what pushes him to the pros, where he doesn’t have to deal with boosters.

I did not mention “lesser conference” and I explained my thoughts on Boise State. I spent some time on their board, before and after the game, and am a welcome poster. In response to what I consider immaterial and weak (USC/LSU), I mentioned a “lower division” in reference to Montana State.

Regarding Stoops running up the score; Lupica made the same argument after the 77-0 aTm debacle and got laughed out of town. In that game Stoops had the clock running continuously in the 2nd half and was running dive plays on every single play at the endzone, having to instruct his players to “fall down.” That is sad and unfair to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stringers trying to get some action. The same thing happened this year in several games with Stoops instructing refs to keep the clock running. I don’t think trying to get a 1st down with 2nd/3rd stringers in the game, 3-4 minutes left, on your own 20 with 3rd and long (after running 2 dive plays) by throwing short slant play that goes the distance is running up the score. Maybe Stoops should have told that backup to fall down once he got the 1st down. Whatever.

Bad sooner fan incident #1: Ralphie magnet on my car turned upside down on last visit to Oklahoma. What is it with the upside down fetish in this state? The UT logo and handsignal bears the brunt, but sooner logic applies it liberally.
#2 "if it has horns, we're going to beat it." This was explained to me on my last visit to Norman. Again, the OU schtick that was invented for Texas gets "recycled" for CU. It's really evident that OU has some penis envy issues with Texas that isn't confined to the Red River Showdown. No one is going to rip my scrotum if I wear a CU shirt in an Oklahoma bar, are they? (puts the batteries and birds in perspective, huh?)
#3 A Sooner fan travelling to Boulder this weekend asked if I knew where the Jon Benet Ramsey house was located. How goulish is that?
#4 A recorded version of Boomer Sooner is piped through the OU stadium PA system. What's the OU band for? The CU band doesn't stoop to recordings of our fight song.

I love these nut swingers that measure thier self-worth by the fortunes of a team that they adopt. Unless you will be on the sidelines come Saturday, you have no stake in anything you are beating your chest about. After football season is over you still have to wake up every morning in your crimson and cream travel trailer you inherited from your pappy, and have your sister fix you a government cheese omelet before you make your way to Social Services before they close for the day. The Sooners could win 10 MNCs in a row and it wouldnt matter one bit. You will still be a pimple on the ass of humanity.

What IS your point? Are you talking football, or making observations about the class and character of the fans?

It may be just me, but the smugness of your posts are dripping pretty thick. I've been around long enough to know that both fan bases have a mix of good and bad.

If you are coming up to Boulder for the game, spend lots of money. If you are a gracious guest, you should have a good time. If you come to town acting like you are God's greatest creation, the welcome you receive will be the one you deserve.

I think if the Buffs play a perfect game and OU makes some mistakes the Buffs will win this one with a last second field goal to make the final score 24-21!!!! Bring it on home Big XII North!!!! :smile2:

The OU/Texas rivalry unfortunately transcends all things. UT fans sing the "OU sucks" part of their fight song at every game. No matter who OU plays you are 100% guaranteed to see and upside down horns. Most OU fans are good people. But there is a percentage that make us all look like the stereotypes that you hear about the most. I'm a college football fan. And I understand the ribbing I get here at allbuffs.com. I honestly think that this years OU team is different from the ones in 03 and 04. There is a fire in these guys that was not there in those years. I really think that they are the only ones that can stop themselves. I don't expect them to put 50 on you guys, but if they do, I won't be suprised. That's not a slight against the Buffs either, it's just that I have yet to see otherwise out of this years OU football team.
