Saw this on the san jose newspapers website. I know we are all aware how boyle's base is probably a bit low, but this is redic. I'm not saying he should be the best paid coach in the conf, but there's not that many people on this list that have had the success he has in the last few years.

    1. Alford: $2.6 million/yr (imagine if he'd beaten Harvard ... ba-da-BING!)
    2. Arizona's Sean Miller: $2.2 million/yr (with $100,000 annual increase)
    3. Oregon's Dana Altman: $1.8 million/yr
    4. Washington's Lorenzo Romar: $1.7 million/yr
    5. USC's Andy Enfield: $1.5 million/yr (reported)
    5. Cal's Mike Montgomery: $1.5 million/yr
    7. Arizona State's Herb Sendek: $1.2 million/yr
    8. Oregon State's Craig Robinson: $950,000/yr
    8. Utah's Larry Krystkowiak: $950,000
    10. Stanford's Johnny Dawkins: $900,000/yr (estimate)
    11. Washington State's Ken Bone: $850,000 (seven-year deal; unreal)
    12. Colorado's Tad Boyle: $600,000/yr (give that man a raise!)

There is a flaw in the methodology that doesnt account for Tad's retention bonus or his other comp. Total comp for Boyle is closer to 1.1million it is structured differently thank most pac-12 coaches so a pure "salary" comparison is not a good one. CU is also im process of re-working his deal again.

Even so, Bohn and the admin really need to raise his base salary. He needs to be in the half of the Pac 12 at least. The man has earned his paycheck and more.

Which is why Abs pointed out that they're discussing a contract with him.

DO WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS DISCUSSION EVERY WEEK?!?

This is the for deal that was re-worked last year (2012) during the NCAA tournament and extended in November.

At this point with no additional victories this season, Boyle will earn nearly $1 million in total compensation, including his base salary of $165,830.

    Tad Boyle's salary and incentives

Academic progress incentive $34,000 (2012) $68,000 other years (upped in NOV 2012. For example, Boyle can earn up to $68,000 for the academic progress of student-athletes in 2013. By 2016, that cap is raised to $166,667.)
Welfare and development incentive $33,000 (2012) $66,000 other years
Outreach and reputation incentive $33,000(2012) $66,000 other years
    Total $691,310

    15 regular season wins $30,000
    17 regular season wins $20,000
    19 regular season wins $30,000

So if the Buffs win the Pac 12 Tourney and National Championship Boyle could earn around 1.92 Mil. I still think his base salary needs to be bumped to 1 Mil a year. Then create incentives for post season success. He's clearly a rising star, give him some flippin' guaranteed money.

Why not sit down with him and discuss what he thinks is fair?

Basketball coaches saleries are somewhat strange. I believe there are multiple coaches out there that get a $0 salary, but in the end take home millions based on incentives. Think about it, in basketball, even in a bad year you are going to get 10 or so wins. Plus, you are only keeping track on a hand full of kids, not like football where its easier for a bad seed to make their way into the program.

Bruce Webber when he was at illinois is the guy that comes to mind with contracts like this. I think in the end he took home a top tier Big10 paycheck, but had a $0 salary.

Isn't there some sort of trigger that can be installed that automatically send this thread to the Island every time it comes up?

Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, I have one final thing I want you to consider. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense! Why would a Wookiee, an 8-foot-tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of 2-foot-tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests
