only what i saw on TV. i believe it was a twisted knee. x-rays were neg but will be x-rayed again tomorrow. but, to be honest. i have watched a **** load of football and i may be mixing him up with some dude playing for webber state or something. :sorry:
heard possible torn acl. MRI monday
Hope your wrong...
In other words, disregard 4dem's comments on this matter.
Me too. Saw it on ralphie report
in a nutshell, yes.
Fingers crossed for Parker here
The usual, in other words... :smile2:
Hope Orms is ok, never did actually see the play where he went down. Always lots of risk to knees and legs on kick coverage, though...
Torn ACL and Meniscus.. brusied knee cap and cartilage damage...hes done for the year... heal up
that f'n sucks. Get better Parker.
Yeah. From his discription, I figured as much. Oh well. At least his mom will not have the dilemma of which game to go to. Sandersfeld did OK, didn't he?
That sucks, he was playing so well in camp and the one position we can't afford injuries is in the db. Get well parker.
It will be someone else besides Sandersfield from here on out. He looked okay yesterday, but his speed is a liability against BCS conference teams. My guess is Olatoye ends up being the guy there.
Wasn't it Hawkins at the end on Saturday? I'd guess it will be him until someone takes his job.
Hawkins was in yesterday. Thinking about it now, the coaches might be wary of exposing our backup safety to injury
That really sucks. I was looking forward to seeing Parker fly around the field this year. issed:
ACL has been confirmed.
Dagnabbit! Well, as an acl survivor, (do not, I repeat, DO NOT try to bunny hop a bicycle after consuming a liter or two of beer at the neighborhood block party), I can tell you that he will come back strong. The crazy thing for him is that he was just running down the field. That sucks.
If there was ever a good case for a medical redshirt, this is it. One play? Really? Man, that's the pits.
ryan miller got one and ryan played three full games in 2008 ... got injured at around ht of the fsu game iirc, so i wouldnt be worried about a medical redshirt.
He was actually in the defensive package before being injured on the punt. But, yeah, I don't see that there could be a question of him getting a med red.
Best of luck to Parker. Gonna be a long wait to see him back on the field next year but I hope he takes all the time he needs so he can do just that.
Didn't Orms redshirt in 2009?
If so, since he's already redshirted, I don't think he's eligible for a "medical redshirt." I think the only thing he is eligible for will be a 6th year of eligibility -- but he won't be able to apply for that until he has used up all of his current eligibility.
I believe Quinn Sypniewski got a 6th year doing this. Fingers crossed.
You are correct, as far as I can tell. If you "redshirt" for a season (even if other than medical,) you get five years total. If you have already redshirted (as Parker did last year), he gets to come back and play his 3rd, 4th, & 5th years, but he may not get a sixth year of eligibility.
I think this is premium, but a good scout story called "understanding the sixth year"
But apparently, every year the NCAA rules on a number of cases and the criteria changes slightly. In a year or two, it may be different.
I feel terrible for Parker. An awful thing to happen. Get better soon so we can see you on the field next year.
