Patrick Carr

I hope that Carr's departure fully slots Julmisse into the RB mix. A trio of only Lindsay, Lee, and Bish is not encouraging.

In that class alone, Baham is scout verified at 4.7, Blackmon is at 4.68, Bisharat is at 4.60, and Huntley is at 4.58.

Shay fields was clocked in high school at 4.4
Juwann Winfree has been clocked in at 4.5
Chidobe and Tedric have a reported 4.6
Lindsay has been clocked at 4.49

etc.

I once had a 3.2 in high school, and women always claim I am way too fast. So where do I rank?

Not sure Adkins was injury prone for a RB until he mysteriously missed the last 9 games of last season. That, along with Gillam's absence was handled in secrecy it seems to me and it certainly is reason for some questioning.

Adkins:
True Frosh - 5th most yards in CU history by a CU true frosh. Honorable mention Freshman All-American (Sporting News). 535 yards on 103 carries. He missed one game after suffering a concussion. 5.3 YPC was 3rd best of all CU freshman, all time.

Soph - Missed two games with a knee injury, requiring arthroscopic surgery after the season.

JR - played in first 3 games, averaging 5.05 YPC, 2nd to Donovan Lee. He was then hurt, and never came back......

We've done this before. I don't know why you selectively ignore how many games Adkins has barely played in because he was dinged and wasn't 100% so only ended up with a handful of carries (if that). I mean, that's most of his sophomore season.

I want him to put this behind him more than anyone, but I don't think it's honest to minimize it like you did. Adkins has been hurt much more than he has been healthy since he got to CU. Opening game of his soph year against CSU was the only time he ever played with high usage when he was what we'd call "Probable" on an NFL injury report.

Agree, if Adkins stays healthy, the running back position is much better. He has the best vision of all of the running backs on this team.

And the other side of the coin is that when he's healthy and getting 10+ carries, he's been the best back this program has had since Vickers imho (with more upside than Vickers, who was a FB playing TB).

Nik - I'm not minimizing it, I just looked it up because I couldn't remember it. It says he played in 10 games.

I went back and looked game by game, and he didn't play significant time in several games, but there was never an announcement as to why. Carries were almost evenly split between Powell, Jones and Adkins that year.

Exactly. He's the best guy we have running the ball by a wide margin IMO. He just has to stay on the field.

I can't find where I saw it but I remember posting about it on my friends FB. But Rashaan Salaam said that Ca'Ron Baham "might be faster and better than he was." I found it on my friends wall with the date May 22. Also I know Kordell is super pumped about Baham and his speed as well.

Hmmm I'll believe it when I see it, no offense.

You know Rashaan was a 4.6+ guy right? I mean, we have several guy now who are faster than Rashaan. He wasn't exactly a burner.

He had that funky long stride and ability to run through contact. It would have been cool to time him in after a five yard start.
I wish he could have avoided the pitfalls he experienced in his pro days. What could have been!

FIFY!
As for Adkins, I hope the nutritionists and Lewis have got his physical injury and health issues turned around. As with Sefo, I believe he had lingering injury issues that were not fully disclosed, which kept him off the field last year.

The injury that kept Sefo off the field was very much disclosed. What we are all hoping is that there were a bunch of other injuries that weren't enough to keep him off the field but were enough to keep him playing at a respectable level.

Short Bus was told not to play him.
