QB prospect Brion Carnes chooses Western Kentucky over Nebraska

This one was surprising. Carnes had been committed to USF for a while, but decided to go on visits. Holtz decided not to wait around only to be disappointed, and rescinded his offer. The Nub boards I was reading were all saying that Carnes was their top QB target and the reason they didn't go after Kain Colter harder. He had the Corn in his final 2 and he's actually Tommie Frazier's cousin.

Well, he chose to become a Western Kentucky Hilltopper. They are Nebraska's first game next year. I hope Carnes starts. Would make that game somewhat interesting.

"Carnes, who committed to USF last summer, is cousins with former Nebraska quarterback Tommie Frazier..."

Yikes.

Maybe we should give Hawk more credit, apparently beating Western Kentucky out for recruits isn't as easy as one would assume.

Just watched some film of him...looks talented, tough loss for the corn. Just breaks my heart...mwahahaha.

Can't be a loss if he can't qualify. Qualifying scores can't be that difficult, can they?

Speculation is that he wouldn't qualify. It would also appear as though he is headed to WKU and that this info was leaked prior to him making an official announcement on signing day.

A lot of Husker fans are less than thrilled about this but I wish him the best until we play them this season.

Will he qualify?

Any Corn fans here who know, because that was the excuse I kept seeing from the Red when it looked like he'd chosen WKU?

Regardless, you got a great one for 2011 if you can hold onto him.
