Jayhawks coach Turner Gill says Quinn Mecham will start against Oklahoma State on Saturday, despite having a rough outing against Nebraska, completing just 3 of 13 passes for 15 yards.
Jordan Webb, who has started seven games this year, is finally healthy, and Gill says Webb could play this week as well.
Saturday's game will be Mecham's fourth start this season.
Iowa State
The results of Cyclones quarterback Austen Arnaud's MRI this week revealed a torn ACL and MCL, serious damage that trainers felt certain had occurred during a fourth-quarter sack/fumble in a loss to Colorado.
Arnaud will need total reconstruction on the knee, and will miss the Cyclones' season finale on Saturday against Missouri. A win will give Iowa State a second bowl berth in as many years.
Sophomore Jerome Tiller, who is 1-1 as a starter, including a win over Nebraska last year, will make the start for the Cyclones. He's played sparingly this year, completing 26 of 51 passes for 207 yards and a touchdown.
Arnaud will leave Iowa State as the program's No. 2 all-time passer with 6,777 yards in three years as starter.
