ST. LOUIS — Saint Louis men’s basketball coach Rick Majerus will not return to the team because of a serious heart condition. The 64-year-old Majerus ended the school’s 12-year NCAA tournament drought last season with a 26-win team that won its opening game and took top regional seed Michigan State to the wire. The Billikens were ranked for the first time since the 1994-95 season.

Sounds like he's done as a basketball coach. Doesn't sound good at all for Majerus. Great, great coach. He'll be missed.

Figured it was headed this way after he started the year sitting out. Too bad. Great coach who was good for the game.

I went to Coach Majerus' basketball camp while in high school. Great coach intense guy, got a chance to talk to him for a few minutes there in Salt Lake. He'll be missed.

Re: Rick Majerus will not coach this year - serious heart condition

Wow. RIP.

Hell of a coach. College basketball lost a great one today. The man who affected so many in a positive way -- there would be no "Doc" Rivers if it wasn't for Rick. He's literally the one who made Glenn Rivers "Doc" Rivers. Will always remember the remarkable job he did at Utah, taking them to the 1998 Championship Game. I'm glad this past March at Saint Louis culminated the way it should have for such an excellent man and coach, with the Billikens in the NCAA Tournament competing and advancing.
