Congrats to Ms. Sutherland, who overcomes a serious injury her last year at Texas, transfers to CU as a grad student for her last year of college track, switches from running the 5,000 meter to the 1,500 meter, and comes on strong late in the year to set personal records in seemingly every race, ending the year with an NCAA championships 3rd place finish.

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior Sara Sutherland raced to a third place finish in a very talented pool of 1,500-meter runners at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon to earn herself first team All-America status.

Sutherland recorded a personal best time of 4 minutes, 13.48 seconds for the bronze in the race, surpassing her previous best of 4:13.56 from the Pac-12 Championships. This was the third time this season that Sutherland has run 4:13. She also ran 4:13.95 at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships.

Also, there's an ~5 minute video interview with her available here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUqfwGG244E&index=10&list=PLwq03wnoevG9ER6CVMfSiebKqNySWcPXg

Lots of enthusiasm in that video. Sara sells the CU program. Congrats for a solid finish at nationals.
