The skiers started/ are starting (what I would think would be???) their 2nd biggest competition of the year today, with the combined RMISA Conference Championships/ NCAA Western Regional being held at Beaver Creek (Alpine races) and Minturn (Nordic). DU is the host school.

The championships are today and tomorrow. Schedule (Per cubuffs.com):
Fri, Feb 26 RMISA Championships/NCAA West Regional (FS-5/10K-I) Minturn, Colo. All Day
Fri, Feb 26 RMISA Championships/NCAA West Regional (GS) Beaver Creek, Colo. All Day
Sat, Feb 27 RMISA Championships/NCAA West Regional (CL-15/20K-M) Minturn, Colo. All Day
Sat, Feb 27 RMISA Championship/NCAA West Regional (SL) Beaver Creek, Colo. All Day

No results I can find so far, with the giant slalom and Freestyle Nordic races scheduled for today for both the men and women.

Found live timing for the giant slalom-
Men's- http://ussalivetiming.com/race/usa-...estern-regional-championships---men_1874.html
(After 1 of 2 runs, CU in pretty good shape, with skiers at 3rd, 4th, 13th, 18th and 25th, and no DNF's.)
Women's- http://ussalivetiming.com/race/usa-...ern-regional-championships---ladies_1873.html
(Women not doing nearly as well after 1 run, with Buffs only in 14th, 18th, 20th, 26th, 28th and 29th. Hopefully they can have good 2nd runs so they can score some meaningful points. Looks like 2nd runs have just started, so final results should be in within an hour or so.)

Article on yesterday's 1st day results- http://www.cubuffs.com//ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=210750993 . In short, Buffs back a bit behind the Utes and in 3rd, so not a great day overall, although some good individual performances, mainly on the men's side.

"
BEAVER CREEK & MINTURN, Colo. — Junior Mads Stroem dominated the field and won his third straight RMISA Individual Championship, helping the University of Colorado ski team to a third place finish here Friday at the midpoint of the 2016 RMISA Championships, which double as the NCAA Western Regional Championships.

Stroem’s win, along with a 2-3 performance in the men’s giant slalom race by senior Henrik Gunnarsson and freshman Max Luukko, helped the Buffs to 297 points through four of eight races at the Championship. Utah leads the way with 361 points while Denver sits second with 304. Behind CU, Montana State had an impressive day with 269 points and New Mexico rounds out the top five with 221 points, just five ahead of Alaska Anchorage (216).

“Overall, it wasn’t the day we wanted,” CU coach Richard Rokos said. “It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t as good as we’ve had recently. Utah had a good showing. But with Mads winning and going 2-3 today in the men’s GS race, it’s still a strong day overall.”

And, for today, looks like the men's Nordic team picked up some major points!

For live results in the slalom races-
Women's- http://ussalivetiming.com/race/usa-...ern-regional-championships---ladies_1875.html
(Looks like 1st run is done, and women in decent but not great shape, with top Buffs in 8th. 10th and 16th. Also looks like the top Buff in many races this year didn't finish her run, so is out.)
Men's- http://ussalivetiming.com/race/usa-...estern-regional-championships---men_1872.html
(Looks like 1st runs are in process but almost done. Top Buffs in either 1st or 3rd (unclear based on how its presented), 6th, 14th and 17th.)

3rd Buff didn't finish that high (only 16th), so Buffs didn't get as much of a point bump from Men's Nordic as I thought. They did at least pass DU for 2nd overall.

Solid women's classic results, with 3 Buffs in the Top 10.
(Note- I believe I read last week that one of (if not THE) top CU finishers most of this year, Petra Hyncicova, has been back at the Czech Republic competing in her country's national championships, so isn't in Colorado this weekend. I believe she will be at the NCAA Championships, however.)
