BOULDER – The University of Colorado women’s soccer team continues its five-match homestand this weekend and will host the Arizona State Sun Devils and Arizona Wildcats.

Colorado (10-6-1, 3-4-1 Pac-12) is 6-3-1 at Prentup Field this season and will face Arizona State (9-4-4, 2-3-3 Pac-12) on Friday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. MT to begin the weekend. The Sun Devils are 4-2-1 on the road in 2014 and the match will mark the first time they have traveled to Boulder, Colo. since the 2011 season. ASU leads the series 4-0-1 over five contests against CU. Last season, the two teams played to double-overtime and the match ended in a 2-2 tie.

Friday’s match will be televised on Pac-12 Networks. Christian Miles has the call and Christopher Sullivan will assist with color commentary.

Match Notes

The first 300 fans to the Halloween game on Friday will receive a reusable CU trick-or-treat bag and those dressed in their costume will have a chance to win various prizes. On Sunday, the first 300 fans in attendance will receive a coupon for a $1 hot dog.

The Buffs should come out of this weekend with, at the very least, a split of the Arizona schools. I might be able to do some play-by-play for Sunday's match, but I'll be at work for tomorrow's.

The match has now begun. ~2 minutes in.

Buffs have moved Kahlia Hogg to the back line today.

ASU now starting to look very good with their passing and getting into the Buff's zone. Still 1-0 Buffs ~10 minutes in.

Too bad. Buffs got a beautiful free kick by the goalkeeper from around midfield right towards the goal, and Tori Cooper headed it in from ~3-5 yards, but was called for a (valid looking) goalie interference call, so no goal.

Still 1-0 Buffs ~26 minutes into the 1st half. Paxton in for Bolyard. ASU looking more dangerous right now.

Buffs with a near miss on the counter attack at ~28 minute mark. Paxton shot JUST deflected to the right by the goalie.

ASU with a few dangerous crosses in. Buffs defense able to head them out so far. 31 minutes in.

I need to leave for awhile, so won't be updating again until sometime in the 2nd half. Right now, still 1-0 Buffs- ~36 minutes into the first half.

Just got back from my errand, and it 2-0 Buffs with only ~6 minutes left in the match. Just looking at the stats, was a Brie Hooks goal from Darcy Jerman.

Buffs get the win! A VERY nice one against one of the teams you'd figure the Buffs will be in competition with come tournament selection time, and who are above the Buffs (40 vs. 51) in RPI.

Congrats to them! Hope they enjoy Halloween, and then are ready to go get Arizona!

Great and much needed win for the Buffs and also congrats to coach Sanchez for his 300th win. Let's hope they finish the sweep of the AZ schools.
