Can you experts out there explain how this is going to play out for the Buffs? What's the structure of this type of defense? The strategy for stopping the offense? And where are our players going to play in this new alignment?

Where does the OP get the data to support the conclusion? I've yet to see that, just that we will evaluate the personnel over the next few weeks....

Adam interviewed Samson after today's practice. Samson said that he's mostly playing on the interior and a lot of 3-man fronts.

I'm assuming that this means a 3-4 under (or 52), since that's what Leavitt ran at USF. Seems to suit our "tweener" DE personnel, too. i.e., Gilbert can be an OLB in that scheme.

Not sure that's definitive yet, but I expect it to come out that way. Will be very interested to see where others are playing DE's and LBs.

We should hope for a 3 man front in some combo of the 5-2/3-4 Under or 3-3-5 Stack/3-5-3. All are very simple, disruptive defenses designed specifically to stop the spread offenses. It also gets more speed and athleticism on the field.
