Sporting News Basketball Preview

This is the year I am holding Thad to a higher standard. Be better on the road. Adapt the offense. Finish higher than 5 in PAC. Deeper tourney run. Yes PG is an early question mark but everyone else is back. The talent and depth is there. Let's have a special season.

you lost me 3 words in. I'm going to hold you to a higher standard.

That said, yes, I agree, we should have a better season than we had post Dinwiddie.

It was a 5 way tie for 3rd. Let's have better standards than "higher than 5."

Also, 3-6 on the road against the PAC is good. Lost 66-65 in OT at CAL. Consider that along with Dinwiddie's injury happening with a solid lead at Udub and you already have a strong road team.

Deep tourney run and top 2 finish in PAC regular season are worthy hopes/standards

Agreed, winning @ UW and not losing in cal we would have been a 5-4 road team, which is acceptable for me (for now)

Pieces are there, just need to get everyone clicking.

5-4 is very acceptable. After an assumed home loss or two we'd be sitting 13-5 or 12-6 with will almost always give us a bye. It's the 3-6 stuff that has to stop in order for us to reach the next level.

Turnaround is only "potential" at Utah right now. I think they'll be good, but they have to do it on the court before I anoint them as a top half team in the conference.

They appear to have done much on the court. Six of their Pac 12 losses (one to the Buffs in Boulder in OT, another was to AZ in OT) were by a combined total of 13 points.
