Watching Stnfurd v SJSU via .eu sponsored by viagra. Anyway - the trees definitely aren't playing the role of world beaters. 10-17 in the 3rd.

What channel? Don't tell me it's on The Pac Network. **** you Direct TV. I watched Longhorn fans suffer through this...I never thought it would happen to me.

San Jose State's better than people think. Stanford's not as good as people think.

Not ever going to get much more favorable than this, except for Oregon State appearing on the schedule. We've got 7 conference games against mediocre to downright bad competition, and the two "near impossibles" are both on the road.

This may be our best chance in a long time to beat Stanford this year. I'm not predicting it will happen, but this is the year to do it. They have two absolutely sick recruiting classes back to back that will be coming into the system next year.

meh, I'm still not sold on Shaw. Personally I think all of Stanford's success had to do with Harbaugh. Shaw enjoyed Harbaugh's momentum and a handful of NFL talent last year.

I hope you're right. I'd like for Stanford to come back to Earth a little.

Could be another Weasel. Keep the program humming for a year or two, and then the inevitable slide.

I came back in here 2 weeks ago and talked about how SJSU had a decent chance to beat CU. Everybody still think we can walk all over them?

San Jose State is going to win the WAC this year and should mop up CSU in a couple weeks in San Jose. Just sayin'.

I guess its a good thing we don't play them...

Stanford beat SJSU 57-3 last year, and then SJSU went on to lose to Louisana Tech and Idaho on their way to a 5-7 season and 3-4 WAC conference record.

This does not bode well for Stanford even if SJSU is improved this year.

Think you are spot on. The Stanford success was mostly due to the leadership of Harbaugh who seems to be doing a pretty decent job of it in the NFL now as well.

The furd' is still going to be a very good team this year because Harbaugh left them stocked with talent and they have continued to recruit well since he left. The coaching difference is going to show however and they will start to lose some games they would have won with Harbaugh. That will drop them from the "elites" status and recruiting will start to decline.

I think we see Stanford fall back to the pack but it won't be overnight with the talent they have. As a program they have had burst of success before but are never able to sustain it, history will repeat again.

Stanford coming back to earth. This season will show you just how good Luck was and that a great QB and a bruising runner can make you a very successful team.

Interesting how smart coaches look with that combination on the field. Harbaugh is a very good coach as well but a guy who is a first pick in the draft and another who is a first rounder help.

Well, they had a very good o- line but Luck's ability forced defenses to play 7 men off the line and cover..... So the o- line didn't have a lot of pressure last year.

The did have a very good O-line, and probably better recievers than people gave them credit for. With that Luck made them all look better than they were. His ability to make decisions and make plays covered up for a lot of mistakes and frustrated defenses. He created tough situations. Sit back and cover giving him time he would pick you apart, try to put more pressure on him and he takes advantage of the weakness left by the guy coming in.

Stanford converted 40% of 3rd and 7+ yds last year - that is ridiculous and that is the Luck factor.

Didn't hurt that "Furd had two 1st round picks and four huge TEs anchoring their o-line and receiving corps last year, either!

Go back and watch that line operate against the Buffs. They pushed the Buffs' "D"line back almost four yards on every friggin' running play!
