FLUSHING, N.Y. – University of Colorado senior Julyette Steur and freshman Kyra Wojcik dropped a straight set match to Florida in the Round of 16 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, Thursday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean National King Tennis Center.
Steur and Wojcik, the Mountain Region champion fell to the Southeastern Conference Tournament champion from Florida, freshman Brooke Austin and sophomore Kourtney Keegan, 6-2, 6-1. With the score knotted at 2-2 in the first set, the Gators won the next four points to clinch the opening set. Florida kept their momentum in the second, pulling ahead 2-1 and then winning 6-1.
